Anyone carry a 226 concealed?
I may have I've got access to a P226 MK25. I'm wondering does anyone here carry a MK25, NAVY or standard 226 concealed? I'm just "small" enough I can conceal it IWB on my hip (I still can't get away easily with a 92FS though
). I'm looking at getting a supertuck for it, but I'm waiting to hear back from them, because from what I've read the standard 226 holsters don't fit the MK25 because of the squared off rail as opposed the the curved rails SIG has on the other models and it crossbreed doesn't appear to make them on their website. Anyone had any experience with this model or concealing 226's in general like about other manufacturers that make good holsters for the 226's specifically? I really don't like belly bands or appendix carry. In the afternoons I normally carry open when I can, but during the day that's not always reasonable for me given the nature of where most of my days take me. I also don't use a light or anything like that when concealed so, my job doesn't really care one way or the other so that's not much of an issue (they know the geologists are a bit "off" in their eyes , but we make them enough money they'd prefer to keep their mouth's shut and let us do our thing). I also don't feel the need to carry a whole bunch of mags normally either since I'm partial to 9x19's and I usually have something to carry extra mags in if I need.Any input is appreciated! Thanks! ![]() “A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.” |

RE: Anyone carry a 226 concealed?
I CC a Sig P229R which is a bit shorter than the P226 but the same width. I find I need a good cover garment for OWB or I must carry IWB in a good holster to get good concealment with out a cover garment. I use individual mag carriers for my P229 mags, which allows me to choose one or two depending upon my ability to conceal based on my current attire.
The best advice I can give is to dress around the gun, using a good quality holster and belt. The belt is critical to pulling the holster into the body, so do not choose a flimsy dress belt. I use a heavy and thick gun belt for carry and it make a huge difference in my ability to reduce any printing by my pistol and holster. I ordered a crossbreed supertuck for it last week, and I'm chomping at the bit waiting for it to come in. I fear its going to be like a month before I get it though... ![]() “A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.” |

I'm afraid you may be out 8-10 weeks on the crossbreed. They are way behind. I carry a P226 nitron OWB in a serpa CCQ. I just ordered a FoxX hybrid (tuckable) for the 226 and a smaller pistol. I too was looking at the crossbreed but didn't want to wait. I'll order one some other time. I got two holsters for less than the price of one crossbreed from fox though. They get good reviews and have the same kydex / leather configuration. I'll post back when they arrive, it's supposed to be a couple weeks. n1fhpa, proud to be a member of pa2a.org since Sep 2012. |

I know you just ordered a holster for your 226 w/ rail, but here is another option too for those who are still looking for a holster.

Thanks, I'm still waiting on my crossbreed to come in, from the other forums I've read it sounds like I should be expecting it some time late next week or the beginning of next. I'm also looking at the IMI defense lvl 3 retention for OWB for my offtime, but the reviews I've read about them can vary radically. ![]() “A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.” |
