First OC of the season.

First OC of the season.
Not including the get togethers in Clarion, and Erie.

Had to go out, get gas, and dinner earlier today, and being a warm(ish) day, I left the coat at home.

Filled the tank for less than $50 on premium, good for that at least. Paid inside, got some smokes and pop. Not a word was said.

Went to subway, and in line an older gentleman. Maybe mid 50s.

"Sir, is that a gun on your hip?"
Yes, it is actually.
"Well, why do you have a gun on you? In public?"
I don't know what you mean. Don't you have a gun on you?
"No actually. Mine is in the safe at home."
But what if you need it when you are out and about?
"Well. . .I . . .That is a good point actually."

We had a little talk about carry, and what we have. He has a sig, and loves it. Too rich for my blood though.

We both got our food, and went our separate ways.

All in all, a good "encounter". I am pretty sure he will be carrying in the future. And it wasn't even a "negative" one.

Thief! I've been waiting to use a line similar to that!

Definitely a lot better than saying, "because I can, go fuck yourself."

Well done.

Thanks all.

I just figured I would answer a question with a question. Maybe open up some dialogue.

All my coats cover my hip. There should be some pictures of me floating around OCing my 1911 and rifle in 19 degree weather last month somewhere though. Might be on facebook.

At around 7:30 you can see me on the right hand side, red shirt, black hat. I eventually get away from the camera at around 12:00. Then you see me a little in front of the camera up until we get to the restaurant.

Cold as hell that day.

RE: First OC of the season.
3 AM My son calls and says he broke down on RT 33,So I get dressed and armed and off to Nazareth,I arrive and see Fire Dept & Staties at scene because of a possibility of fire,So I get out and as approaching realized my jacket is over my sidearm exposing it fully,1ST statie says its not that bad and I dont need to shoot the car and realizing full exposure just covered up discreetly upon a barrage of questions from fire dept, what model ? caliber.where can I get a holster like your,The two staties said I was at the mercy of all the questions the moment they eyeballed the firearm. All in all positive encounter at 2 am and damage to car was not that severe.
