Hey's been a long time coming but I finally added a new custom theme to the forum! Dare I say that it is an evil black theme!

Check it out by choosing DarkNet from the board style theme chooser at the bottom of every forum page! Let me know how you like it and alert me to any bugs that may arise!

  Chrome Malware Alert
Posted by: soberbyker - 03-20-2013, 02:03 PM - Forum: Site News - Replies (3)

For a few hours Google Chrome was reporting a malware problem and advising you to not access that forum page. The problem turned out to be a hotlinked avatar picture.

Rocketfoot figured out and fixed the problem and all is well once again in pa2aville.

  Minor Forum Rules Update
Posted by: rocketfoot - 02-07-2013, 05:40 PM - Forum: Site News - Replies (55)

After Valorius committed forum suicide today by creating a goodbye thread attacking the staff, we decided to update forum rule #1 to include provisions for perma banning any member that decided to post a Goodbye Thread. These threads are no more than a last ditch effort to troll for negative responses and we just don't want that here.

Here is the new context of Rule #1:

1. Spamming, trolling and instigation will not be tolerated; If you join these forums with the sole purpose of spamming, trolling or instigation your account will be banned or suspended. If you want to leave the forum and decide to create a "Goodbye Thread" you will be banned permanently. This is a form of instigation/trolling and will not be tolerated.

Thanks for understanding and please, continue to enjoy the forums!

  Google Search added to!
Posted by: rocketfoot - 01-24-2013, 05:03 PM - Forum: Site News - Replies (7)

Ok gang, I replaced the standard search box at the top and bottom of the forums with a custom Google site and image search! For those of you that love to search, this should knock your socks off! No search limits, full text previews and image thumbnails! I'm lovin' it already!

The standard forum search is still available by going to the SEARCH tab in the nav bar up top.

  Avoiding Duplicate Threads ....
Posted by: soberbyker - 01-10-2013, 06:15 PM - Forum: Site News - Replies (1)

When entering a new thread title just under pops up a list of possible duplicate threads. If you copy/paste your thread titles please type at least one space in the title box in order for this list to appear.

Help us keep the forum less confusing to navigate by adding to existing threads instead of starting a nearly identical thread this way as well.

An example of this is there were at least 7 different Piers Morgan threads that were all basically talking about the same thing. As such they were all merged into one.

Thanks for your help.

Hey everyone!

In case you haven't noticed, Publican and Project Appleseed have signed up to be a advertiser for one year! I'm really happy to have them advertise with us and I hope you all can help me return the favor by clicking their banner up top and checking out the Project Appleseed Website! Appleseed seems like a great program focusing on American Heritage and Marksmanship!

  Help Catch a Scammer!
Posted by: knight0334 - 11-25-2012, 12:34 PM - Forum: Site News - Replies (14)

I already ran the idea of this thread with RocketFoot...

Over the past year or so I've been working with the USPS Postal Inspector division on help catching a scammer that lives in PA.

Well, the scammer has been charged locally for his deeds, but Inspector Michael Bond has asked to help get any other victims to come forward. So far I've forwarded 2 or 3 victims to Inspector Bond that had reported being a victim. They want to apply federal charges, but they need more victims to come forward.

The scammer has been known to hit Armslist and FAL Files. And is suspected at a few other websites. Whether or not you actually had a loss, attempts and solicitations count too.

The offender is: Jody Bartlett
Email Addresses: and

His known addresses that he has used in the past are:
P.O. Box 104
Gaines,Pa. 16921
C/O Scott and Julie Lane

11500 Apt B
East Ave.
Wellsboro,Pa. 16901

If you know of someone, please have them come forward. Also, please share this thread/info with whatever other websites you visit.

See email below for Inspector Bond's contact info.

Quote:Mr. Preston,

I am still working this up, as time allows. I had been assigned to work the PSU/Sandusky case, which has been consuming my time since you and I last corresponded. BARTLETT is facing local charges for now, 'cause a guy he scammed reported it to the police, and they're charging BARTLETT. hopefully to be followed up by Federal charges, but we'll see. I need for you to do me a favor though - if you're still invovled w/ PAFOA crew, can you send out a mass message, asking people who were victimized by BARTLETT, to contact me? I have a complaint from gska3873 (I have his ID info, too). I see the screen shot you sent me from Jet 38 +P (but no ID info, or complaint from him/her), and I have two other people who had filed complaints direct to my agency. I know there have to be more folks out there, and we need them to report BARTLETT too. The offenses are still well within a statute of limitation, and solicitation/attempted scams by BARTLETT count as well. Thank you and I hope your holiday was good. My contact info follows:

Michael Bond, US Postal Inspector; 717-257-5580;

Thanks again.

Michael Bond

The fine line between good jokes and bad jokes
Posted by: rocketfoot - 10-22-2012, 11:57 AM - Forum: Site News - Replies (66)

Before this issue blows up, he is what our stance is on jokes, comics and other related satire.

Many jokes may seem racial in nature but we have decided to separate them into two groups...good hearted humor and derogatory racial/ethnic undertone. Good hearted humor should not be confused with racial undertones even though the good humor jokes may mention the Irish or the Polish...even something like "A black guy walks into a bar..." These are not considered racial and don't need to be reported.

Now, a joke that is derogatory to a particular race or ethnic group is something that we don't want here. I'm short on examples but stuff like antisemitic Hitler jokes and KKK jokes would be considered racial and would be a rule violation.

I hope this clears up this issue before anything gets blown out of proportion. If you do have an issue with a posted joke, please report it and the staff will investigate. But if no action is taken, you may be considered 'over sensitive!' Tongue

2 Minor Updates to the Rules
Posted by: rocketfoot - 10-18-2012, 10:11 AM - Forum: Site News - Replies (12)

This is just another alert to some minor adjustments to the rules found here:

Rule #3 has been adjusted to prohibit all forms of bigotry.

3. Bigotry is prohibited. Do not post anything homophobic, explicitly sexual, anti religious or anti racial. This includes content listed in your username, signature line and profile as well as titles, subject lines and context of threads. We want you to be able to express your feelings while debating issues but we don't want inflammatory remarks, only designed to offend other parties, factions or entities, posted in the forums, this includes sarcastic remarks and one liners about someone's race, religion or other personal beliefs.

Rule #7 has also been revised to cover some copyright issues that may crop up from time to time on our forums:

7. Copyright laws can be vague and difficult for any online media. In order to help avoid any infringement issues, please be sure to cite your source when ever posting news articles or other content from another internet source. Also, be sure to post a blurb or snippet (no less than 10% of the source article) along with the link. This helps forum threads make more sense in case the original posted links change or disappear. This might not always be enough to satisfy some sources but it is a step in the right direction. Please do not duplicate the entire original article as this may exceed protections extended under 'fair use', even when the original source is cited. If we are ever asked to remove copyrighted material, we will have to comply.

As I've mentioned before, we are not becoming more restrictive, we are just trying to provide a fair and consistent set of rules and guidelines to help keep the forums professional, entertaining, informative and inviting to all gun owners and 2nd A supporters despite their backgrounds. As we continue to grow, we need to adjust these rules from time to time.

That is all...please review these revisions as well as the entire rules page. They are clearly posted under the 'Forum Info' tab so there should be no hard feelings when warnings are issued for posted rule violations!
