Kim Stolfer Needs YOUR Help right NOW!
Posted by: edstephan - 10-04-2012, 04:30 PM - Forum: Site News - Replies (11)

My friend Kim Stolfer Needs YOUR Help right NOW!

Kim Stolfer is the Legislative Chairman for the Allegheny County Sportsmen's League (ACSL), Chairman of Firearm Owners Against Crime (FOAC), Vice chairman of PA Sportsmen's Association (PSA), Vice President Shooters Active in Firearms Education (S.A.F.E.) along with being a USMC combat veteran and Crew Chief of the last Marine helicopter to leave the American embassy in Saigon at the end of Vietnam war.
As many of you know Kim Stolfer has been very active in the defense of PA hunters and gun owner's rights in the political arena for over 25 years. He has been instrumental in getting the Castle Doctrine passed as well as many of our firearms rights restored. He has worked tirelessly in bringing 2nd Amendment education to many including our elected officials. For decades Kim has volunteered his time to protect the freedoms of Pennsylvania citizens.
Kim made a lifelong commitment when he took his oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign AND domestic. He dedicated untold thousands of hours to fight against infringements to our Constitutional rights as an unpaid volunteer, especially when anti-gun politicians attacked your rights.
Kim has helped us and now needs our help.
He is very ill right now.
Kim's health is suffering as his liver is failing; the medical treatments expenses are exceeding the insurance coverage.
Times are tough for some, send what you can to
Liver for Kim Fund
P.O. Box 326
Clinton, PA 15026
Make checks / money orders payable to "Liver for Kim Fund".
Here is electronic place to make on-line donations
http://www.gofundme.com/1a1ay0
IF you appreciate Kim's sacrifice and dedication to the cause of Freedom, any contribution will help defray the cost of Kim's care.

In addition to whatever else you do PLEASE include Kim in your prayers as this is where his fate now rests in God's hands to recover.
THANKS in advance for your generous support to Kim's greatest battle, the fight for his life.

Out of respect for Kim condition, Any inquires about Kim's health should be sent here: pf1321@zoominternet.net

News Forum and minor forum layout update
Posted by: rocketfoot - 09-29-2012, 06:48 AM - Forum: Site News - Replies (7)

After a few weeks, I noticed that we didn't have a forum to catch non-gun related news and current events, so I condensed the Blotter into a News forum for these types or posts plus I made the PA gun related and national/world gun related news as sub forums to the News forum. This should help ease the pain of deciding where to add your news articles! Completely random stuff can still go in the Odds & Ends forums as usual!

Also, not in the rules and guidelines yet but we may add this eventually...when posting news and current event articles, please don't just link and article and move on...post a blurb from the article as well as some of your own commentary on the subject. This helps with SEO and page ranking and all that, plus it makes reading the forums more informative and fun for everyone! It also helps protect against any possible copyright issues.

One other thing that we have been watching is the influx in religion focused topics that have been surfacing lately. Firstly, many of these topics are a stretch for the Politics forum, they should go in the Odds & Ends forum, but regardless...please, please, please do not post bigoted comments in these articles! Feel free to present the facts and add commentary but refrain from the inflammatory anti-religion and even racial remarks. These kind of statements are against our forum rules and although we haven't had to issue any formal warnings yet, it may come to that. We are hoping that you guys clean it up in the notion of self policing that has been working well so far!

Thanks guys!

  Forum Rules Update
Posted by: rocketfoot - 09-26-2012, 06:58 AM - Forum: Site News - Replies (10)

http://www.pa2a.org/misc.php?page=rules

We have made a few minor changes to the forum rules. Please take a few seconds to read over them. The link can always be found under the FORUM INFO tab up top.

One noteworthy change is that we now allow links to graphic material to be posted along with a warning of what the reader is about to see when they click!

How to post videos & photos
Posted by: andrewjs18 - 09-22-2012, 11:20 PM - Forum: Site News - Replies (13)

I figure we should write something up about how to post videos and photos on the site so people know how to do both.

videos:

for videos, it's simple: post a direct link to the video and it'll auto embed itself into the post, for just about all of the popular video sites (facebook, myspace, youtube, photobucket, etc.)...

photos:

for photos, you're going to need to have the photos hosted somewhere, whether it be on facebook, photobucket, imgur, or whatever.

once you have the photos hosted somewhere, place the direct link to the image between [img][/img] tags.

for example: [img]direct link to image[/img].

that should do it!

  Index of Statutes
Posted by: gnbrotz - 09-22-2012, 08:34 PM - Forum: Site News - Replies (25)

We are in the process of building an index of statutes that are in some way related to firearms. Rather than wait until the project is complete, we are rolling it out in it's infancy, with much more to come as time goes on.

The index page is linked under the "Firearm Info" tab. The index is complete, but the child pages are still a work in progress. Statutes that are not yet available are stricken through, but at least you will be able to see what all will be coming.

For now, we're going to try and focus on the statutes that are shorter in length, as they go up quicker, and then we'll dig into the longer ones.

Please let us know if you find any errors, or if you think there is a statute not included that you think should be.

  Share Button Added
Posted by: rocketfoot - 09-19-2012, 07:21 AM - Forum: Site News - Replies (2)

There is now a tiny share button added to the footer of every forum page. It allows you to share what ever page you are on with your favorite social media...Facebook, Twitter, Pintrest, etc...there are over 300! Just navigate to what ever thread or even the index page and then scroll down and click the share button. It is located at the bottom right hand side of every forum page. Clicking SHARE in the dropdown menu will show all 300+ options!

Enjoy!

  Site use rules ....
Posted by: soberbyker - 09-13-2012, 03:04 PM - Forum: Site News - Replies (5)

The rules, and there aren't many, have been tweaked a tad. Please check them from time to time as they may be updated without announcement. As we continue to grow some rules may need to be added, expanded or even deleted, to accommodate an over all good experience for all.

Thank you, that is all we now return you to your regularly scheduled forum browsing.
