“Russia Has Reportedly Halted All Exports To The US Of Russian Made Ammunition”

Russia doesn't have the corner on 7.62x39 manufacturing.

There is probably plenty of 7.62.54R already stockpiled here and in other countries that what remains in Russia is a drop in the bucket.

I for one won't miss TulAmmo product.

Hmmmm...... who would profit off of a shortage and might want to create one?

If I were a distributor (or group of distributors) where profit is the bottom line, I could see suggesting the situation in the Ukraine could lead to an embargo of ammo. What gun owners choose to do with that info is up to them.

Next thing you know, gun owners are buying up ammo moving the product creating a low supply with high demand. And if I remember my high school economics correctly, that means higher prices and more profits for the sellers.

Or it could be legit, I bought an extra 1000 rounds earlier this week just in case. So either way I spent money I was not planning on spending.

They do produce a lot of the most used brands though.

I may be wrong but I believe Wolf, TulAmmo, Brown Bear, and Golden tiger among others are all Russian brands and them being taken off the market would bump up the price of 7.62x39. Looking at American made 7.62 most that I have seen are 3 to 4 times the price of Russian made ammo.

Given that Putin is acting a lot like a guy from the last century with a little mustache, buying anything made in Russia would leave a foul taste in my mouth just now.

I seriously doubt whether the Mosin you buy today came from Russia any time recently.

With the Russian economy being what it is, does anyone think they are going to halt exports to any country? They know that they can start a war with us, while selling goods to us, and use the proceeds to kick our tails with it! Vietnam did it with pot, Afghanistan is doing it with heroin.

War is good for business. Our biggest growths as a nation have always followed wars. Dont think Putin hasn't already covered all the bases and hedged all his bets. He is doing everything with the intent of provoking a response, so he can say "look, they attacked us first!". You have to understand the underlying ultra-nationalism of modern Russia.

.........

Quote:Russia is preparing the announcement of the "Holy Grail" energy deal with none other than China, a move which would send geopolitical shockwaves around the world and bind the two nations in a commodity-backed axis.

One which, as some especially on these pages, have suggested would lay the groundwork for a new joint, commodity-backed reserve currency that bypasses the dollar, something which Russia implied moments ago when its finance minister Siluanov said that Russia may refrain from foreign borrowing this year. Translated: bypass western purchases of Russian debt, funded by Chinese purchases of US Treasurys, and go straight to the source.

Igor Sechin gathered media in Tokyo the next day to warn Western governments that more sanctions over Moscow's seizure of the Black Sea peninsula from Ukraine would be counter-productive.

The underlying message from the head of Russia's biggest oil company, Rosneft, was clear: If Europe and the United States isolate Russia, Moscow will look East for new business, energy deals, military contracts and political alliances.

The Holy Grail for Moscow is a natural gas supply deal with China that is apparently now close after years of negotiations. If it can be signed when Putin visits China in May, he will be able to hold it up to show that global power has shifted eastwards and he does not need the West.

What is this .22LR shortage you speak of? My local dealer has tons of it, a bit pricier than it used to be, but he's got a shit ton of it, always.
