Sell your inheritance to your kids for a buck.

You would take away peoples first amendment rights, so that is not going to work. If it would be done we would do the same as Libya, Honduras and dozens of others did. That is one of the reasons why it is such a chaos in that part of the world.

This is not saying that a person needs "X" amount of income or even that one must be gainfully employed. One just needs to not be getting money from the person whose job they are voting to fill.

I have a much simpler proposal: STOP STEALING MY MONEY!

Instead of infringing upons people's rights, we should simple abandon the entitlement programs. With very few exceptions, I don't think any individual should receive money or benefits from the government without working for it.

what are these 'very few exceptions'? either stealing people's money is wrong or it's not...I don't see much wiggle room there.
Good question. I was in a hurry when I wrote this and I didn't express myself well. I think the strongest point I can make here is unemployment insurance. I like the idea of unemployment insurance, although I doubt the .gov is the best organization to run it. As it stands now, though, unemployment checks do come from the .gov. In this situation, the unemployed (ought to be) looking for work and is collecting on unemployment because they no longer have work. It is kinda hard for someone to collect unemployment while working full time. I really don't like the idea of the .gov giving people jobs. Teaching skills is one thing, giving jobs is another. In this case, I am ok with people collecting limited unemployment without working as long as it is not indefinite and the unemployed is actively seeking work.

The 1A has nothing to do with voting. It does have to do with religion, speech, press, petitioning the government, and the right to assemble, but not voting. Voting is not an absolute right like some others are (like the ability to defend oneself or to seek one's life). We as a state already remove the ability to vote from incarcerated felons, and - from a historical perspective - it wasn't until recently that most Americans were eligible to vote. Unlike so many people think, voting is a privilege and not a right. No where in the Constitution - or its amendments - is the right to vote guaranteed. I don't see how it is a direct constitutional violation to prohibit someone from voting because they are on public assistance.

In addition to mandatory drug testing. I think people on food stamps ought to be forced to buy food at the exchanges on military bases. That way the government can save money by buying in bulk and they can control what the stamps can be spent on so it doesn't go to buy booze, lottery tickets, candy, etc... You'd also see less fraud since the government doesn't have the same incentive to jack up prices on themselves on the back end for EBT users.

It sounds socialist, but I think when you live off the government tit you forfeit your rights and you ought to be exposed to the socialist police state you are building by draining off the system.
