1911-A1 .45 Magazine Suggestions
#1
I just ordered a TISAS Classic 1911-A1 45ACP 5" GI BLACK from Bud's Gun Shop ($410 + free shipping, I did NOT do the cash discount for $400). I ordered a pair of all black rubber grips and dark brown rubber grips for $10.50/set off of ebay. This is my first .45 and I want to keep it simple. This is just something for me to learn off of until I can afford a Ruger SR1911.

Anyways, who makes affordable, but reliable 8 round magazines for the 1911-A1 .45acp?

Chip Mccormick power mags are good, also wilson47d and etm mags. Tripp cobra are excellent . None of these are the cheapest but magazines are not the place to cut corners. And if some of these don't work well in your gun you can always sell them. Good places for info. http://forums.1911forum.com/index.php?s=...5302d17482 http://www.1911addicts.com/forum.php?s=2...4a2409db12

How are the Colt magazines? They appear to be of good quality.

I've been using Mecgars and Shooting Star mags with no issues. My Taurus factory mags have also been 100%. I had a Kimber mag that wouldn't cycle more than 1 round at a time, and a couple of gov't issue ones that ere worse.

Thanks for everybody's input. I'm probably going to go with the Shooting Stars. If I order through Chip McCormick's website, then shipping is free too (only for USPS Parcel).
