1959 bear bow value
#1
I have this bow that looks like it was just made. It hung on a wall under a trophy buck my uncle killed with it. I'm trying to find out what it's worth so I can sell it . Thanks

No leather, and it hung on a wall without the string, we couldn't even find one in the house after he died. I will have pics up soon

Those prices are a little ridiculous...notice how some are willing to accept a best offer now. In my travels I have seen them sold for $50-$100.
It also proves it isn't exactly the rarest thing out there.

It also helps to know what kind...Kodiak, Alaskan, Grizzly...
Keep in mind also, Bear went into mass production in '49...it's those pre-'49 bows that will fetch the big bucks.

I forgot to mention we found the original box in the attic, it was dry rotted and crumbled to dust so we had to throw it away

My cousin said he bought it in 64-68 so that should help date it.

I was going to ask how you came up with the '59 date. It's hard to tell from the pic but it looks more like a brass coin which would put it between '63-'70. Which makes sense without the leather grip.
I'm still in the $100 or so mark...you may find someone who just has to have it and will pay more. I'm just trying to be realistic and not set your hopes to high.

1959 was a typo, meant to put 1969. But I know it's a little earlier than that. For $100 give or take I'd rather keep it and put it in a closet

If I didnt just put a down payment on a tattoo I would be very interested in shooting you an offer. Shoot me a PM if you want to consider selling.

As I type this, there are twenty one Bear 45 lb/60" Kodiaks on that big online auction site right now, all but one are over $100.

There must be a new mix to the Pennsylvania water additives, since I'm getting the itch for recurve as well.
