Where's everyone at with their garden this year? We're expanding again, last week I tilled the two beds from last year and tilled a fresh bed that'll have potatoes.

Little girl and I planted onions and garlic this morning in our "root" bed. Later we'll put in carrots and radishes. Where I had green beans last year on the trellis I made a frame so I could contain 6" of top soil around the trellis and the entire depth of the garage. Now I have a raised bed that's 24'x10"x6" and filled with fresh top soil, 460lbs worth. The beans will be growing on the same trellis and the two that we used for cucumbers last year in the main garden bed have been moved to the new bed. That way we should be able to contain the vine plants from the rest of the garden.

I'm going to dig up my Horseradish tonight and get that into jars.
Tiller is in the garage so I can make sure it's good to go.
Your weather is probably a little nicer than up here. We still woke up to frost this week.

It's been beautiful all this week. Early last week it was really nice but got fairly cold over the weekend. While I was tilling last week I noticed a fuel leak on the tiller, had to tear the carb off the tank and replace a bad gasket.

My "root" bed is too small for the big tiller, so I just use the tiller attachment for my weedeater. Last fall, I had covered both beds with stuff I ran through my shredder and let it sit all winter. Tilling it in this spring really loosened up the soil.

The wife has started the tomatoes, and the like, inside. I have rutabega in the cold frame already. Garlic is coming up thru the straw mulch.

Long range forecast is calling for a hard frost late next week. Then again, long range forecasts are almost never right.
Ammunition, it's the new lead bullion. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

Only have tomatoes, peppers and onions started and are periodically in the cold frame.
All are about 1 month old now, and beginning to look like veggies.

Still need to wander over to the back 40 and see if the garlic is coming up.....i imagine it is.
