2nd Presidential Debate - Predictions
#1
Thought I'd throw this out there, and solicit other predictions. Could be fun Smile

- Obama will come off as his old self; They're taking questions from the audience so it will be easy for him to be personable.

- The left wing media (MSNBC, CNN, Mother Jones, Reuters, PBS, ABC, NBC, etc) will declare him winner of the debate no matter HOW well Romney does or how poorly he does--as they will be focusing on how 'Charismatic' and 'Relateable' Obama is.

- Romney will not be given the opportunity to respond to the slights and insults levied against him, due to the nature of the debate (questions from crowd).

- Obama will blame the Bush Administration no less than 7 times.

- We will get to--yet again--experience Obama's 'Black Southern Preacher' accent.

I think your absolutely right Camper. I wish the guy that returned Obamas letter was able to ask a question. I think that might put a damper on his arrogance for a little while.

There are new rules for the moderator in this debate: the moderator is not allowed to ask follow-up questions. It should be interesting to see which questions the audience are permitted to ask.

The audience will be stacked, it's CNN after all. All questions will be targeted at Romney and his job will be deflection and retargeting at OMao.

OMao will again come off petty and Romney will be a leader.

I agree. The 2008 Obama will make his appearance tonight.

But, most people know better now. This is a chance for them to see the earlier Obama and say "oh, that is how I was fooled last time". Some will be fooled again, but most will decide to not be fooled again.

So, Mitt needs to just be himself. IMO, he needs to show people who he really is. Most people will find him to be a good person, and a better choice than the guy who fooled so many.

The whole debate system is stacked and has been since its inception.

Quote:The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) was established in 1987 to ensure that debates, as a permanent part of every general election, provide the best possible information to viewers and listeners. Its primary purpose is to sponsor and produce debates for the United States presidential and vice presidential candidates and to undertake research and educational activities relating to the debates. The organization, which is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, 501©(3) corporation, sponsored all the presidential debates in 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008.

If the CPD is nonpartisan, how is it that it has never had a right wing moderator?
As George Carlin said "The Deck is Stacked, the Game is Rigged".

Camper, you forgot this in your second point about the left wing media.
No matter how many lies the president tells he will not be called on it. But Romney will be criticized for every little thing that he may misspeak about.

I don't think Romney will lose his game, I think Obama will have his back tonight. I'm sure he was humiliated after the first debate once he was told he lost huge. It's hard to buckle down when the world had been handed to you. Now that things are shaky, I imagine it was a little easier for him to prep.

I predict a draw unless Candy Crowley can't help herself helping Obama. After Raddatz went bulldog on Ryan, I'll be interested to see if Romney will put up with it. I don't expect a Gingrich face-eating but a moderate rebuke would be nice to see. I do think she'll control it after Lehrer was savaged so badly for allowing the first to be rather free-wheeling.

As long as Romney can maintain, I don't think Obama will be able to recapture his lost lead. The last debate showed Romney to be a personable, competent candidate and not the Gordon Gekko he's been portrayed as.
He was the sort of person who stood on mountaintops during thunderstorms in wet copper armour shouting "All the Gods are bastards."

I predict regardless who "wins" we all lose.

Except Crowley already stated she intends to push the candidates with follow up questions.

Yesterdays polling showed Romney pulling out a 5 point lead in the battleground states.

This debate probably determines the next POTUS.
