Associated Press

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A knife-wielding man being chased after a fight ran into a Target store Monday, slashing two men and stabbing and seriously injuring a 16-year-old girl, authorities said.

The suspect ran into the store in the East Liberty neighborhood after a fight with several men down the street, police said.

Shortly afterward, the knife-wielding man was seen chasing one of his pursuers from a Target restroom, police spokeswoman Diane Richard said.

The man with the knife ran toward the checkout lanes and grabbed a teenage girl standing with family members, Richard said. He held the girl in front of him while brandishing the knife, she said.

And we all know that if this was a gun, the headlines would read "Mentally unstable, oppressed man slaughtered innocent bystanders with an assault rifle [even though it was a Ketl-Tec P32]."

Where is a good guy with a gun when you need it?

That reminds me of the crazy guy with scissors that slashed a cop and was shot & killed at a grocery store in East Huntingdon. And they say we're paranoid for carrying a weapon.

That store is in an urban "revitalized" section of town.
You know, when rich developers tear down a section of shithole and turn it into a trendy oasis for liberal white people to shop in while surrounded by "shithole".

Cross the street and it's weave shops, nail salons, and urban clothing shops.

I drive by a few times a week on my work route and have stopped in a few times. It's pretty "cool" in that it's on the second level with a parking garage under it. There are escalators and elevators that take you up to the store (even escalators for shopping carts next to the "people escalator".
There's a security guard stationed inside and I noted that they have a Segway-type thingy that he can ride around on. No GUN though.
But hey, at least security can get around the store with ease - THAT is what's important.

I understand the young girl he grabbed and stabbed repeatedly wasn't even from the area - just here to visit.

Every person who fought to have that bastard released from prison (apparently he's got a lengthy record) should be stabbed with a rusty fork.

A Segway? Well, mounted police do command respect, the way they tower over people. Take this guy here - he can't run 100 strides, but put him on a Segway, and he's a freakin' warrior!

I'm sure unarmed guards on Segways get the same respect. Tongue

Does anyone know of any up armor kits for segways that are able to withstand multiple hits from .338 Lapua?

I was thinking a paperclip in the charger port, or cooking oil on the floor in aisle 3.

it feels disconcerting when you're in the store and it feels higher up but you expect it to be the ground floor. i can't really explain it.

anyhow, if only target were as gun friendly as walmart, maybe this wouldn't be an issue. target tends to cater to the douchey pretentious types anyhow.

Target follows the Walmart rule, as far as I know. I shop there often enough while open carrying, and have for years.
