300 AAC Kool-aid
#1
Yes, I finally drank some. Got a PSA 10.5" pistol upper on its way, some brass and bullets, new mags (so as not to confuse them with my 223/5.56 ones), reloading dies and case trimmer....any suggestions, aside from that? Using 150gr cantalured bullets, still undesided on the powder. Have yet to acquire sights and/or optics.

No, unless you are using sub sonics. Even then it would depend on the recipe.

The spelling. Tongue Don't get it confused with the 300 Whisper.

OK whats the difference between the three of them? Which one runs best suppressed? I know I read one of them should be suppressed.

The 300 AAC is minutely dimensionally different from the 300 Whisper. Kind of like the 223 and 5.56, as it has sometimes been compared. 300 AAC Blackout is the name of the round. So, 300 AAC, 300 Blackout, 300 AAC Blackout are all the same round.

These guys break it down. http://www.gunsandammo.com/ammo/ga-tv-30...0-whisper/

Sadly I have a 300 blackout handi rifle complete with a scope and suppressor, that I've never shot. Ammo is too expensive and I'm not set up to reload 300 blackout yet. Sad

Well, I just grabbed some 4227 powder today and will give a breakdown of gun function and bullet velocities ASAP.
