3D printer for creating untraceable AR-15 rifles hits market

Quote:Defense Distributed has offered a pre-sale of its new milling machine which allows buyers to print and assemble a steel AR-15 rifle in the comfort of their own home. The weapon is completely untraceable.

Ghost Gunner is the company’s new computer-numerically-controlled (CNC) milling machine. Unlike its so-called Liberator gun, which is a plastic gun design to be created via a 3D printer, the Ghost Gunner is the PC-connected hardware for manufacturing the lower receiver of the popular AR-15 rifle.

Pre-Order slots still available for $1299

That's not a 3D printer, it's a CNC milling machine. Looks like it's purpose built for AR15 lowers and not very versatile.

Ummm can't you buy "untraceable" 80% lowers for about 50-60 bucks?

Edit to add:

And you can buy a jig for, IDR $50 bucks or less, to finish the lower on a drill press.
Yeah it won't be pretty, but it will work. Nothing new to see here IMO.

Thats my guess. How does a printer take away material.

It's for people with way too much spending money (because they live in their mom's basement) who don't know which end of a screwdriver is the handle, and think that the government is gonna collect all the 4473's from gun stores to confiscate all legal guns, which is definitely gonna happen because they saw it in Red Dawn.

Wait. So you're saying Red Dawn ISN'T a documentary!?
Ammunition, it's the new lead bullion. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

The first one was.
The second was just a remake.

Fixed it. They should have never even attempted at remaking it. It was horrible. Maybe the ADHD generation likes it, but it was just bad.

Which is saying something because the original sucked too, IMO
