Is this device just for aesthetics or does it actually reduce recoil? Huh

It will reduce muzzle climb. The added weight, and the upward pointing vents. Seeing as how muzzle velocity for the .45 isn't terribly fast, it will be noticeable. But I don't see it being necessary. If I had the extra cash laying around, I would get it though.
This will be the best security for maintaining our liberties. A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the religion of ignorance that tyranny begins. -Ben Franklin

I am glad to hear for nearly $60 this device will do something useful. I'd like to see it in action though as I figure a device like this might make a hell of a fireball which might be a bad idea for a defensive pistol.

Id say the compensator would be for range/competition use, not for an EDC/PD weapon.

Correct. I think it just looks kinda cool. We'll see when it comes in.

I figured it would make a nice addition to a defensive use M1911 since it lowers muzzle climb. Why would it be for such use? Reliability issues? Becoming too long to wield? Huh
