Call it running if you want, I call it doing what's best for my family.

A captain might go down with his ship, and good for him, but I'm no captain.

Johnstown just passed an increase to the "Privilege to Work Tax", from $52 a year to $156.
While that may not seem like a big deal, it's the principal of it.
If you do not live in Johnstown but work there you have zero say in this.
You cannot vote for a new council, you either suck it up and pay or quit and find other employment.
This while passing by the leaches every morning who pay zero taxes.

Indiana county just went through it's first reassessment since the late 60's.
Some people had their taxes jump 250% overnight.
People had a .10 acre lot in a flood plain accessed at $6000.
On my own street, a neighbor had his taxes jump 180% while mine went up 13%. If you looked at our houses you wouldn't be able to tell a difference except for the color.
Same size lots, same street, same sq. footage, same everything except his is painted and mine is not.
Both are typical coal mining town houses made of local clay brick.

I have a varied skill set.
I currently am driving a tractor and trailer flatbed.
I have haz-mat, tanker and doubles/triples endorsements.
I have an Inspection Certificate.
I worked in home remodeling for years out of high school and still help a local friend with finish work side jobs when I have time.
Any of these jobs would be higher paying elsewhere than here.

I do what I can as far as writing letters to my state reps, I donate where I can and I vote accordingly.
This loading of the State Supreme Court with Democrats during an election with a pitiful 20% turnout is going to ruin this state.
We have a governor that has the support of the media.
We have an Attorney General without a law license.
The Republicans in the state houses are ball-less.
Taxes are climbing.
Wages are stagnant.
They complain about money but nobody seems to care that it "takes" 6 PennDot "workers" to hang a new stop sign while 2 state vehicles sit idling while they are doing so.

Nope, as a parent, I don't see it as running, I see it as doing right by my kids.
I'm disgusted at what this state has become as of late.
Some people need to read this book: http://www.amazon.com/dp/1936976021/ref=...jwbZH1GAZF

With the major population centers in PA driving the State to the left more and more. You can be damn sure I'll be getting the hell out of here after I retire. If I could transfer to another State's National Guard, I would leave sooner but there is a better chance of Congress balancing the budget and keeping it balanced than a member of the National Guard getting a full time job in another State.
