A 5 Step Plan To Significantly Reduce Gun Violence in the US
#1
http://lewrockwell.com/wenzel/wenzel208.html

1. Abolish the DEA and end the war on drugs. A large part of gun violence comes as a result of the drug market being forced underground. Drug dealers have to shoot to stay alive, just like Al Capone had to during Prohibition.

End the drug war and drugs would be sold at drugstores by little old lady cashiers – -and at a fraction of the price – thus reducing all kinds of drug related crime.

2. Abolish the FDA and government involvement in drugs. Big pharma, which owns the FDA and the White House, is behind the mind altering drugs that have been taken by many of the crazed shooters. Drugs paid for and promoted by the government. Let's end the government promotion of these drugs, which can turn young men mad.

3. End minimum wage laws. Urban youth, in particular, with few skills, are the victims of the minimum wage laws. Their marginal revenue productivity is not high enough to warrant businesses hiring them. Thus, they roam, looking for targets to rob.

4. Abolish the Department of Education. Government education is a myth. It's an open air prison. The only thing learned at public schools is how to become a thug.

5. End gun control. Guns are the great equalizer. Robberies will really go down when criminals know that the potential victims could be carrying.

Bonus idea: End gun registration and destroy all records of who owns guns.

Gun registration is only one step away from gun confiscation. The most important reason to own a gun is so that individuals can protect themselves should a government get oppressively totalitarian. The last thing that an individuals should want is the government having a list of who owns guns.

1. Drug dealers have to shoot to stay alive? I am supposed to have sympathy for them? Easy to fix if you are a dealer. Stop doing stuff that gets you shot.
"-drugs would be sold at drugstores by little old lady cashiers – -and at a fraction of the price – thus reducing all kinds of drug related crime".
And adding all kinds of unintended consequences and taxpayer medical expenses thanks to Obamacare.

2. This is completely paranoid and insane. Big Pharma does not own the FDA. The FDA makes life miserable for Pharma. Without them Drug companies could do anything they want. Doctor's prescribe drugs not drug companies. If any drug is causing mass insanity, it is the illegal variety.

3. Does not solve anything. Without a minimum wage, companies would pay less if they could and these "Urban Youths" would have even less incentive to work for a living. And they can't pay them more than the minimum because they are not worth the wage.

4. I agree with. Education should be local and not federal.

5. No problem here.

1) Agree, prohibition is a direct cause of violent crime.

2) Agree. Big Pharma is benefitting from prohibition and government protection. The same hypocrites who decry illegal drugs dump all kinds of prescription shit into their kids and they have no idea what it is or what harm it may cause and neither do the doctors. Illegal drugs are not intrinisically bad and legal drugs aren't intrinsically good. I don't know how much of an impact this would have on gun violence though.

3) Just ending minimum wage would be of minimal value. There are minimum wage jobs available now that go unfilled because welfare pays better. End gov't welfare and eliminate minimum wage would be more effective.

4) The schools aren't really the problem. The unrestrained procreation by poor people and bad parenting is the problem.

5) Agree

Here's my 1 step plan:

1. One violent strike and you're out. No more lengthy rap sheets.

2. This is completely paranoid and insane. Big Pharma does not own the FDA. The FDA makes life miserable for Pharma. Without them Drug companies could do anything they want. Doctor's prescribe drugs not drug companies. If any drug is causing mass insanity, it is the illegal variety. This is definitely the case. Most people have no idea what the FDA actually does to protect the public.

3. Does not solve anything. Without a minimum wage, companies would pay less if they could and these "Urban Youths" would have even less incentive to work for a living. And they can't pay them more than the minimum because they are not worth the wage. Businesses would simply cut wages and eliminate incentives for the kids who actually do work.

4. I agree with. Education should be local and not federal.
Minimal federal standards are needed, IMO. Needs to be reduced, but not eliminated.

With regards to point #3

Without minimum wage, Legitimate business would be able to pay low production employees what their worth. Which in some cases may be below the current minimum wage. And the ones that prove themselves and produce could be rewarded with a pay increase instead of those dollars being sucked up by employees that don't produce but still have to be paid a certain wage.

If ya really wanna minimize violent crime you go after the source.

The majority of violent crimes are committed by repeat offenders.
Case closed.

Anything else is just

What gun registration? If you're talking 4473s, the government doesn't get those. They stay with the FFL. No gun information is sent to NICS or PICS either. The only info used for those systems is your drivers license number.
