I ran the last street level meth dealer on my block off, some 5 years ago.

Of course, I had a little help. The Boro Police, from the Chief on down, a Sgt. on the Alleghney Co. Drug Task Force, the Allegheny Co. Asst. D.A. in charge of nuisance properties, & the section 8 slumlord (yeah, I went after HIM, too [Image: smiley-happy009.gif] ) - we all got to be GOOD buds in the process. I just leaned on EVERYBODY, until he screwed up one TOO many times, broke the conditions of his lease, and got sent packing (after his jail term was up! Big Grin ).

Since the slumlord discovered I wasn't gonna put up with any CRAP, he rented to a nice family next, and the problems on MY block are currently solved. [Image: smiley-happy008.gif]

I'm glad you had the success that you did. In my teenage years meth moved in and took over a good portion of the county in Northern California where I grew up. It was THE drug when I was in high school. I saw first hand what it does to friends, families, communities. Semi remote, wooded areas were havens for the cook houses. When I first visited PA and started to learn the lay of the land I was amazed that meth hadn't really sunk its teeth in here yet. Reading the news lately tells me it finally found its way here.

Why is nobody bringing up the fact that the reason they gave in the video for entering the home was the suspected they had weapons inside the house? Having weapons in your house makes you a suspect? What kind of weapons? Yeah meth labs are bad, I don't want somebody setting up a meth lab next to me, but I would really like to know what probable cause they used to investigate this case, since it wasn't the reason they gave for investigating. This is PA its not like they have a database to know which firearms are registered to who and whether or not they were legally obtained. I find the missing information here and the way it was presented troubling, but yes drug manufacturers need to be arrested through legal means. I'd like to know what or who exactly tipped them off.

There was one found a block away from my house last month.

And people wonder why I carry everywhere I go. You never know what a drugged up loser is going to do.

For some reason it hasn't hit Da'Burgh yet. God help us if and when it does. I know the number of Labs found in Pa has jumped in the last couple of years which is not a good sign.

I hear the coppers in New Castle are starting to see it a little bit but the guys I have talked to don't know if it's taking hold at all or the thugs from Detroit are bringing it in themselves.

In the video, they stated:

Quote:SRT was called out because officials suspected there were weapons inside.

In conjunction with:
Quote:Middlesex Township, Pa. (WHTM) -

Pennsylvania State Police uncovered what they suspect is a meth lab in a Cumberland County home Friday morning after a warrant was served and standoff ended peacefully.

Makes me think that they had a warrant due to the lab. They officers suspected weapons were present so the SRT team was called in to serve the warrant on suspects who were likely to be armed. Right or wrong, it does not sound like the officers were there because there were weapons. They were there to serve a warrant and SRT responded due to the "elevated risk".
