Action Alert: Philadelphia City Park Ban
#1
It's official: Mayor Nutsack has signed a law making the carry of guns in parks illegal. There's a protest planned for May 25, around 10AM. Be aware that technically, anyone who shows up armed will be considered a "criminal", even though the law is a blatant violation of state preemption. There is no such thing as pre-emption now that Kathleen Kane is States Attorney General.

This is the inevitable result of low-information voting and/or the "I'm for da Democrats, dere for da yuunionz" school that runs rampant in this Commonwealth.

Preemption is State law. Kane can't rewrite it or ignore it. She must do her job whether she likes it or not.

I believe she still has the power to prosecute under her own discretion, so I doubt we'll be seeing her hold any city accountable for a pre-emption violation. Even when we had a gun friendly AG in the office, I don't think we could get them to do anything about it. They're just not interested.

The only exception is under judge order. Some one quick, file an action per se.

Please, she's a Democrat.

They've shown us time and again that they won't enforce laws they don't like.
