Advice on next purchase

OK I need a couple of firearms but I dont know how to prioritize the order. I need a .22lr I want a Ruger 10/22. I had a beautiful old winchester my brother ruined. I need a good concealable 9mm I want a Ruger sr9c. I have 2 large framed 9mms already and a 38 snubby. I would like to get a Ruger 10/45 for my daughter and wife to shoot. I have 2 AR's but would like a nice 308 not a priority at the moment. Of course I would like to replace the 1911 I foolishly traded away. I want either the Ruger SR1911 or the Remington R1. I am also in need of a decent optic for one of the AR's. I have 2 12 ga shotguns a 870 wingmaster and a short barreled Benelli Nova Marine. Where would you start. This has to be a one gun at a time deal has I have very little extra money at the moment. Advice and opinions please.

When you say .308, if you mean a .308 AR or M1A then I would get that first just in case O'Douschebag tries to pull an executive order and implement an AWBs. If by .308, you mean a bolt action rifle then I would get that last. I would hold off on the SR1911 until gun shops get a good amount of them in stock and the price drops down. I'd get the 10/45 first just so your wife and daughter can start becoming more proficient with firearms right away in case a SHTF situation is not too far away. With all of that being said, my order would be:

1) .308 AR or M1A (if that is what you meant)
2) Ruger 10/45
3) Ruger 10/22
4) Ruger SR9c
5) Ruger SR1911/Remington R1
6) Bolt Action .308 (if that is what you meant)
7) AR Optic (unless a SHTF situation appears to becoming sooner than you thought and you desperately need an AR optic ASAP)

Edit: Numbers 3 (Ruger 10/22) and 4 (Ruger SR9c) can be interchangeable

Thank you. The 308 doesnt have to be semi auto. Thats more of a want at this point than a need.

Sounds like you have to figure out what the wants and needs are and prioritize. That and maybe look into a second job. Big Grin

Which is most important now, a good carry firearm or the 22 rifle or the AR optic, once you have that figuered out then the choice is easy. My opinion, you already have the 38 for carry and we are getting into cold weather, so the 2 large framned 9mm's are good. It also depends on which 2 you have. So now your choice is left to the 22 rifle and the AR optic. Depending on the AR you have you may not want a cheap optic for it. this would make the ruger 10/22 the least expensive. Allowing you time to save the money for the AR optic and possible the 9mm carry gun.

I'ma big fan of the SR9c. Bought one when they were new-ish, right after I got my LTCF. I've tried a handful of other guns since then, but this is the one still strapped to my side. I'm a bigger fan of the R1 than the SR1911, but I've had negligible trigger time behind either.

What do you plan to do with the 10/22? If you're leaving it stock then I might suggest getting the takedown version (comes with a nifty backpack from most retailers), then setting up a BOB around it. .22lr is a great survival round!

The bolt-action .308 market has a fair number of inexpensive options these days. I picked up a Ruger American a few days ago but haven't gotten out to shoot it yet. Should be able to give a range report on it tomorrow. However, I'd throw a bolt-action down toward the bottom of your list, just in case the November elections do end up with another Obama win. You can expect the price of most arms to skyrocket immediately, particularly handguns and "assault rifles", but the bolt-action market should be safe for a while since he's trying to get the Republican vote by claiming to support the 2A for hunting.

As far as optics goes, are you looking more EOTech, or red dot? The Vortex Strikefire is an excellent budget option red dot (4MOA) that really is worth far more than asking price, enough that I'd call it equivalent to the 4moa aimpoint. Leaves you room for another item on your list.
