Do you know anyone who has been directly affected by the VA's disregard for those who served?

As you must know by now I’m not a big fan of having words put in my mouth. IF I wanted to call you a leftist, trust me I would not be shy about it. But you ARE using the exact same tactic here. You may think its ok since it supports your political view but that does not make it any more right.

As for your red herrings, if I told you I spent many months in a VA hospitals back in the 80’s would you then change your view to mine? Of course not. Add to this that it’s NOT the bringing up the VA that I have an issues with – but I already mentioned that twice so I’m guessing it would be a waste of time to do so a third time.

BTW, for those who don’t agree that just saying you care more actually means you really do care………

I really hate the VA.

My father was a disabled vet and IMO the poor quality of care contributed to his premature death. That was in 1986.

It took a year and a half for my mother to get his pension. I had to help financially support her.

They tried to cheat me out of my GI Bill. That was back in 1983. Had to go to my Congressman to get it.

I have nothing but contempt for them.

The VA hospitals need to be done away with and the money made available for civilian health care.

The medical team there is for the entire military base not just detainees although they still get great care with no wait.

Mostly agree. The horror stories go back decades. Instead of doing away with them completely we still somehow need to keep some of the talented specialists who really do amazing work which would not translate well to the civilian world. For 95% of other routine medical care, Yeah – give them a card to go private.
