An Amazing Day At The Range Teaching Kids
Well we spent an amazing day at the range today with new and old friends, but that's not why I am posting this.

Today we had two kids (early teens) who had literally NEVER shot a 'real gun', only BB and pellet guns, and trained and let them fire 'big kid guns'.

One was a dear friend of mine's son, the other a dear friend's daughter. These kids have AMAZING parents and today was their 'graduation day'. We took them from 22s to AK-47s and one even to a full auto MAC-11.

Each step was carefully watched and critiqued by adults, none of them were left to their 'own devices' and the day turned out amazing.

Each of the children grew a little more proficient with each weapon, gained a bit more confidence with each shot and to me grew up a little bit every time they were handed a weapon.

We also had a another son of a very dear friend (hell might as well be my brother) that graduated to major big boy toys today with his interest in our AK-47s, my M44, my Krinkov and finally my Ruger 44 MAG ... while only an early teen this young man was within inches of targets at 100 yards with every weapon I mentioned before and the smile on that young man's face at the end of the day was worth a million dollars!

This is our tradition, this is our right and this is what we MUST pass on to our children. It is OUR job to pass this on from generation to generation to keep this tradition alive.

On a side note, another 2 fathers showed up with their kids and tried to do the same thing even though the kids got bored fast (younger kids) but I thanked them for passing this great tradition along.

My point? Well parents .. bring your kids to the range, teach them safety and teach them how to shoot. Instill in them our proud heritage and never let them forget this is their god-given right.
Good post! Teaching kids to practice and enjoy safe shooting is one of the best defenses we have against the gun grabbing liberal masses.
A Reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."
This is the only way to overcome the public school indoctrination, and it shows them that weapons are simply tools albeit very powerful tools.

They will remember this day for the rest of their lives. . . guaranteed.

We got some feedback from one of the parents on FB (she couldn't make it - her daughter came with her boyfriend). She said when her daughter explained the day her face was lit up like it was Christmas morning ... especially when she talked about here new favorite, the AK-47 Tootie taught her to shoot. Big Grin
