It can't be true because it doesn't support the popular opinion of the climatologists.

Why is Greenland called that?  Because when the Vikings landed there and built villages and farms, it was green.

Since scientists can never be wrong about anything, especially when popular consensus shows that they all agree, I'm sure soon we will find the tools that allowed these eskimos to lift up the ancient ice and levitate it above their rlatively young settlement.

When it comes to global warming I always ask:

If we had our knowledge of the world

a. 20,000 years ago when the Glaciers were receding would we have blamed Global Warming and humans?

b. 5500 years ago when the Sahara was a Jungle, would we have blamed humans for it becoming a desert?

c. As the sea level has risen 400 feet in the last 20,000 years covering thousands of landmasses that use to be islands and redefining the border of continents. Would we blame humans and try to keep sea level from rising.

d. After the last ice age there is a theory that large parts of Canada were under huge lakes. There are estimates that what is now Winnipeg was under 600 feet of water. Would we have blamed humans as the lakes disappeared or shrunk?

The earth is constantly changing. Throughout it's history it has been extremely cold, (ice ages and check out the snowball earth theory for when it was possibly completely covered in ice) to extremely warm, much warmer than it is now. The continents move, the composition of the gasses in the atmosphere have changed. The thing is, for the first time in our known history we have the ability to track and observe changes in the world.

I always enjoy stories where they find ruins/ancient civilizations like this.

Ya wanna know something else that many geologists refuse to admit?  There's clear evidence of heavy rainfall water erosion on the side of the Sphinx.  But the idea of there being extreme amounts of heavy rainfall in that area of the world doesn't it into the current beliefs of global climate.

For all we like to think we know about the ancient world, we really know nothing about so much.  What's your opinion of pre columbian contact between continents?
