Ann Coulter Battles Stossel, Calls Libertarians ‘Pussies,’ And Gets Booed

Libertarianism most definitely doesn't exclude one from being biggoted about their views. We see that demonstrated on this forum every day.

no, she's not.

she was trying to claim that libertarians are getting cozy with liberals. that could not be further from the truth. liberals advocate government solutions to problems while libertarians advocate markets and liberty as solutions to problems.

to me, if someone doesn't agree with the NAP then they cannot possibly be a libertarian either politically or philosophically.

Actually what she said was that 'libertarians were pussys' for focusing so much on the few issues that liberals would agree with like Gay Marriage and Drugs, instead of working on the more important issues which liberals would hate. Agree or not, THAT is what she said.

Im bigoted against people trying to control others when they are doing no harm to anyone.. I think people who want to control what others do with their own bodies, prevent us from having tools to effectively defend ourselves, support taking our money and then spending it on crap like other peoples abortions, medical expenses, robots with simulated tails to determine if foxes will attack it, and then max out our credit lines to buy more crap are intellectually retarded. Not mildly retarded I mean cant put the spoon in their mouth retarded. They are a special kind of special. .. most certainly inferior and need to be reprogrammed to stop buying the same old lines of bullshit politicians keep throwing at them.

Dave;82134 Wrote:Her main point was, I believe, that the house is burning to the ground, yours puppy is stuck on the third floor and all they keep yapping about is legalize drugs. If there are 100 important issues out there, drugs would be about 80 yet they spend sooooo much time on it. And it really does seem to be one of the most important issues to libertarians because I hear it all of the time and even the questions asked were about it.

This is 100% wrong and one of the reasons Libertarian types bring it up so much is that Conservatives don't realize how wrong it is. When you recognize all of the negative consequences of the War on Drugs, it moves way up in importance. I'm not going to go through all of the arguments because we've had those threads already, but it's important to differentiate between being pro-drugs and anti war on drugs. It's not the same thing and Conservatives seem to be unable to grasp this nuance.

gay marriage and drugs are not small things in any way - the regulation against both actions either harms peoples of infringes on their rights. if they were such small things, why are republicans generally staunchly drug war crusaders and would like the state to define what marriage is? Wink

btw, liberals & libertarians part ways on those issues when it comes to their enforcement in a major way. liberals want everything handled by the state whereas libertarians want the state to get out of the way.

when was liberty ever not worth fighting for?

Those two issues and gun control should be the last issues on any politicians list, this country is going down the shitter and yet these particular issues, especially gun control is headlines everyday.

I'm personally sick of hearing about all 3 of these things, fix the fucking country before worrying about offending Adam and Steve or smoking a joint.

there's a TON of money spent on the wars on drugs and because it's pushed underground, there's a lot of violence from it as well. it's an important issue. the state doesn't want to let it go because they like the power and it employs a TON of individuals.

again, what's more important than fighting for liberty, whether it's small or large?

that I'm a pussy...?!?!

that libertarians are for liberty?

that she's a homophobic, statist?

that she wants to have her views imposed on other humans?

what point did she make that was valid?

how could she POSSIBLY be for less government and want to regulate marriage and drugs? how's that even possible?!
