Another bill aimed at changing Pa licensing - SB1071
#1
Those who know the problems with PA's licensing can surely understand the reasons behind this bill. Not sure how much traction it will get and Philly will fight it tooth and nail.

I understand the reasoning, but I don't see that ever getting past committee.

An interesting idea. I just find it hard to believe that there aren't other ways to make the city of Philadelphia act like the rest of the state.

Oh, there are. It's just that no one has the guts to go against the machine.

I have the guts, but I don't have the cash.

Well no shit, it'll never get past committee if we have a bunch of negative nancies that are just fine with the way things are since they don't live in Philadelphia. Meanwhile me, and everyone else here, have to deal with the consequences of that apathy. It would make it out of committee if the rest of the state would stop pretending we're part of NJ and actually support and vocalize their support for shit like this.

Personally I think the ltcf process should be application, pictures, check/money order, NICs check, then fingerprinted if you pass the NICs check and filled everything out properly. Obtaining a ltcf should mix between to buying a pistol at a gun shop (background check and paperwork) and getting your driver's license (which you receive the same day you go to the DMV, assuming you pass).

He's right though, we shouldn't ignore Philly and write them off. It just has the potential to permeate the rest of the state.

You wouldn't be able to run as many people over with that car if it didn't drive as far. It should only have a 10 gallon fuel tank.

Why should I be finger printed and photo to exercise my god given right enshrined in the 2nd amendment of the constitution. Should I be finger printed and photo to practice the religion that I chose to practice. Maybe made to wear an identifying symbol so we can identified who is carrying or what religion we are.

I think it's a great idea. If nothing else it will place Philly in a position (when they cry about it) why a neighboring county will issue to person x and while they refuse. Same standard, same form, same background check. They won't be able to use the nonexistent Fl loophole excuse anymore.
