Another "Win" for the FBI

Feds arrest man who tried to blow up Federal Reserve Bank in NYC, sources say

Quote:The terrorist wannabe parked a van filled with what he thought were explosives outside of the Liberty Street building, sources said, then tried to set them off using a cell phone detonator.

The suspect, who was not immediately identified, was provided the explosives from an undercover FBI agent that he met on the Internet and believed to be an accomplice, the sources said.

Glad the FBI is keeping us safe by supplying idiots with fake bombs.

Based on the limited two sentence background.....sounds like this guy was bad news. If you come here to recruit terrorist cells, blow up buildings, and kill innocent people, I have no issue with the FBI helping you find your federal prison cell.

I always question whether the person they got to cooperate with their "crime" actually would have had the ability to commit the crime without their help. A lot of people just blow off steam online and say things that they'd never want or be able to accomplish. So it seems to me that too many times the FBI steps in and offers a helping hand, all to further the idea that they're keeping us safe, thus making everyone feel good because they're there.

It would also seem that the FBI is grooming these guys much the same way pedophiles groom children.

I understand what you mean. I would hope that they would be a little more selective about their targets and would limit them to people who truly intend to cause harm. If this is just the case of a mental midget given a push in the wrong direction, I would have issue with that.

More facts need to come out.

I see Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis is accused of trying to blow up the Federal Reserve Bank in lower Manhattan and is a professed member of Al Queda.

Thank goodness it's a religion of peace.

The only facts that we'll hear about this will be the ones that we're allowed to hear. That's the way it is in these cases. What do we know of the "time square bomber"? Not a whole lot.

The FBI has a very long history of doing this exact thing, going back at least to the 60's.

In case I offended anyone with my calling the attempted terrorist a member of the "religion of peace", I will instead not use inuendo but blatantly state that the attempted terrorist is a member of Al Queda, and unless they've relaxed their membership requirements, also a Muslim.

Thank you!

I'll be in their building in the next week or two, anything you'd like me to pass along on your behalf? :evil grin:

Yes, I have a package that you can deliver for me. I'll have to hand deliver it to you, hope you don't mind if I wear rubber gloves when I hand it over to you.
