Anyone shooting handloads on a Buffalo Classic?
My Buffalo Classic 45-70 is only fed handloads. I am using King's 405gr FP in front of 46gr of IMR 4895. I had alright accuracy with this, but refuse to burn up that much powder on a "giant plinker". I have since switched to Trail Boss but haven't gotten to test them out yet. Any other suggestions?

Trail Boss is excellent for a mild load. Someone gave me some awhile back and my notes say 12-13 grs with my 405 gr cast was subsonic around 1000 fps. Same results with 10-12 grs of Unique. Both accurate. However 26.0 grs of Accurate 5744 under my 405 gr cast has been my load for awhile. This is considered a trapdoor load and chrono's around 1300 fps. It's not the cleanest powder but the results and deviations make it worthwhile. For what ever reason the price has risen on it the last few years. Recently have been experimenting with 2400 in the 22-26 gr range with dacron filler and the results are promising. Let us know how it goes.

the fabrication doesn't stop in the shop, that's what the field guys are for.
