This is disturbing. Im all for keeping guns out of terrorists hands but just being accused of anything doesnt sit well with me.
Quote: Anyone Who Would Use Terror as an Excuse to Subvert the Second Amendment Should Be Tarred & Feathered Senators Schumer and Reid (Andrew Burton/Getty) by CHARLES C. W. COOKE November 23, 2015 2:49 PM @CHARLESCWCOOKE Fans of mindless authoritarianism are having a pretty good month. The New York Times reports: Congressional Democrats are trying to build support for an effort to bar gun purchases by terror suspects, hoping to take advantage of the same public anxieties about security that gave Republicans a ringing House victory. The Democratic push seems likely to fall victim to opposition from the National Rifle Association and congressional gun-rights backers, chiefly Republicans, who have smothered firearms curbs for years. If the Republicans who control Congress block votes on the proposal, Democrats hope to profit politically by winning sympathy from angry voters. As the Times implies, the bill’s proponents are quite open about their intentions. “Under current law,” Chuck Schumer explained over the weekend, “suspected or known terrorists who are on a no-fly list can legally purchase firearms in this country.” “Slamming this appalling loophole,” he argued, “ought to be a no brainer.” His colleague Harry Reid has made similar comments. “It’s outrageous,” Reid argues, “that dangerous individuals who are known terrorists can waltz into a gun show and buy any weapon they want.” In a Twitter conversation with me over the weekend, Reid’s deputy chief of staff, Adam Jentleson, put it even more clearly: Let us avoid gloss or euphemism and speak plainly: This idea flies directly in the face of every cherished American conception of justice, and it should be rejected with extreme prejudice. You will note, I hope, that Reid, Schumer, Jentleson, and co. are not proposing to place restrictions on those who have been “accused,” “charged,” or “convicted,” but upon those who are “suspected.” They are not referring to those who are working their way through the judicial system, but to those who remain outside of it. They are not seeking to limit the rights of those who are out on bail or awaiting trial, but those who have not so much as been handcuffed. Loudly and proudly, they are arguing in favor of removing fundamental rights from anyone whose name has been written down on a list. Because they hope to confuse the public, their talk is peppered with references to “Paris-style” “assault” rifles and “automatic” weapons. But this is a red herring: Their proposal applies equally to guns of all types, not just those that give Shannon Watts and Diane Feinstein the willies.

If nothing else, they are tenacious and never give up. I wish the Republican side had as much drive and stick-to-it-tiveness...

The Republicans should remind everyone of whom the Dems were calling terrorists, a few years back.

Quote:“It’s outrageous,” Reid argues, “that dangerous individuals who are known terrorists can waltz into a gun show and buy any weapon they want.”
Someone needs to ask the deranged Harry Ried:
Sir, how is a "known" terrorist as you stated able to walk into a gun show and buy a gun when it's the job of the Executive to make sure that a "known" terrorist is not out and about walking the streets?

What a fucking jack-off.

Democrats, yes they disgust me.

This needs to be blasted everywhere. If a terrorist is known, then they should be in jail and not out of it.

It should be blasted everywhere, but it will not be, because many people just ignore the old bastard just like you would ignore old crazy uncle Bill at the yearly family Christmas party when he starts talking about the time he was abducted by aliens, Harry Ried is just as insane and demented, in other words, the poster boy for the Democrat party.

Stuff is coming out, like the woman was "vetted" when she came in, and the guy used wrong paperwork to get in.

And they think they can check out 30,000 refugees?!

Did they up the number from 10,000?

Several government department heads agree with you. They have stated there is no way they can properly vet all the refugees. Even if they held them somewhere for the entire investigation process, they couldn't guarantee it.

The best analogy I've heard on the subject was basically on the lines of there are 10 gum balls in the gum ball machine that holds 10,000 that are poisoned and might kill you. Would you eat from it?

Heck, I'm not even sure I want to eat at Chipotle anymore.

I'm sorry, you're right...France volunteered for 30,000. We are taking "only" 10,000.

I cannot figure out all the bleeding hearts these days. The same people that want to kill babies are the ones that want to feed and house the world for free. How about let's take in unwanted Americans instead of unwanted Syrians?
