AR15 TRIGGER
#1
OK I am looking for first hand experience ..... I currently have 3 ar15's all with rock river match 2 stage triggers. Love it but not crisp enough for my newest build. My other rifles are either sbr and carbines and trigger feel is important but not as important as what i want to build next. I am currently building a 24" heavy barrel that my objective is a solid 300-400 meter rifle, i understand that the platform isn't the greatest for any sort of distance shooting but i want it as good as possible. I got to shoot a sbr this weekend with a geissele trigger and i liked the pull but the take up was a little heavier than expected. suggestions or comments on a different route maybe?

Read up on the Geissele triggers. They make several different variants and the one you tried may have been their version of a traditional AR trigger. I have two SD3Gs and I love them. They wouldn't suit you if you're looking for that glass rod break but they do make ones that function that way.

This.

Look into the SSA-E, it will give you the crisp break you are looking for. I have one in my 18" long(ish) setup and couldn't be happier. I also have one in an SBR despite the common advice not to run such a light trigger in a carbine. I love it there too.

Figured I'd chime in here since I have a fair amount of experience with Geissele triggers. The two triggers that I always suggest for precision guns are the Geissele Hi-Speed Match line or the Super Dynamic-Enhanced (SD-E). If you're looking for an adjustable trigger go with the high-speed line and if you want a non-adjustable go with the SD-E. Feel free to ask any questions.

Seems to a popular question with an equally popular answer.

Just for full-disclosure, I do photography for GA and do not have experience with any other aftermarket triggers.

Take this for what it's worth, but I've handled the Geissele triggers and have not found one to feel as good as a well setup Jewell. I have two that the second stage is a crisp one pound.

I have a jewel in one rifle now and love it but i ordered a Geissele ssae yesterday give it a try... friend of mine who is a hardcore shooter and a sheriff swears by the ssa and ssae so i decided to try one out.
