Archery just evolved...

Quote:THE PIONEER AIRBOW is an all-new category of big game weapon featuring full length arrows and full weight broadheads, all driven by air. Based on Benjamin’s proven American-made PCP platform, the Pioneer can be cocked with two fingers (and decocked just as easily), fires 8 shots in the same amount of time it takes to fire three from a crossbow, all at a blazing 450 FPS.

The Pioneer enhances everything enthusiasts enjoy about archery hunting while making the sport safer and more accessible.

Arrows from the Pioneer stabilize quickly, giving shooters an expanded kill range for any game animal. Its accuracy is not affected by canting and it does not require the complex maintenance of crossbows.

I'll hunt NY or OH with it.

I want to see testing against zombies before I put any money into it.

I'm sure the Fudds will be wetting their panties any minute now. Too bad the PGC sees this as an air rifle.

Looks like someone else has been in the air/arrow game for a few years now. You can even switch barrels and use pellets on this one too...

I'm kind of on the fence. Now, if it had one of those shoulder things that go up...
Ammunition, it's the new lead bullion. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

That's an air rifle first and the arrow was an after thought.
I like things that are purpose built.

Two things I did not like:

1 You need a compressed air source that they did not show in the video. Carrying a bulky, heavy tank around is not cool.

2. The fill valve is at the business end of the gun. Somebody is going to load this with an arrow then discover that they did not charge the gun. You fill in the rest.

I like the Verminator better.

A full tank on this thing gives you 8 shots @ 450fps, I don't see the need to carry a air compressor around with you.

Then that would be their own fault.
Besides I would venture to say that most people who intend (or permitted in certain states) to hunt with this would use a broadhead which may get in the way of filling while loaded.

I also can't help but think of the guy who shows up to go hunting and forgets his bullets. There's always one.
