Are Mec-Gar Magazines An Acceptable Replacement For Factoty?

I can find outrageously priced P95 mags from Ruger, but noticed Mec-Gars are all but impossible to get. Advice please.

As I understand it, they are quality mags..

I ordered a bunch for my Marlin Camp 9 carbine, but haven't tried them yet. The finish is extremely good - not like "no-name", discount mags.
I've yet to hear anyone compare them to anything like Promag.

I'll get you a link to a good supplier...

Here you go.
Greg Cote, LLC

Good prices. Ships FAST.
Has email alerts if item is out and you wish to be notified when it becomes available.

Seems to be a small scale operation - maybe even just Greg by himself.
I jokingly typed "Don't tell my wife!" in the comment box when ordering my mags and my return email notifying me that my order was being processed said "I won't tell your wife, but you're going to have to beat her to the mailbox!"

LOL!

Funny because it was actually Greg Cote who first told me that.

I know they are made in Italy, so I looked at the website, but it isn't really clear where they are based.

Reading the "about us" section though, it reads as though it's an Italian company.
I suspect they have a US headquarters for distribution purposes.

I'd have to dig more to verify, but I'm too lazy to do so.

Huh, they are based in Italy.
When I ordered mine I was told they were comming from CT.
Well, at least their English is pretty good!

*Just thinking about it and IIRC, Ruger gets their mags from CheckMate.

One of my Ruger branded extended LCP mags is marked "Italy." I'm pretty sure Mec-Gar is who really made it there. Functions well and has a nice shiny blue to it. It's the mag I keep in the pistol.
