Armada of British naval power massing in the Gulf as Israel prepares an Iran strike

This has me extremely worried. The U.S. economy is hanging by a thread and if this new war starts gas prices will skyrocket followed by prices of many other essential goods. More tragic, many U.S. military families will lose their loved ones when Iran strikes back.

I fully support Israel, but cant we just send weapons and missles? I for one am sick of our soldiers coming back in flag drapped coffins over wars. I made the mistake if initially supporting the iraq war, but we need to quit paying peace maker. Iran is a hostile country and probably needs to be settled down, but I dont think american blood should be shed in the process.

The only bright side to this is that I think if war is going on with muslim nations Obama wont get re-elected ( he might try to suspend elections) but we would be rid of him becuase i think we would fare much worse in a war with him in charge. Bye that I mean a delcared war not the conflicts in the countries now/

God Bless our Troops.

It really is sad when you can see the writing on the wall so far ahead of time. 8 have been fearing this day knowing that my nephew is less than one year from enlisting.

Oh boy here we go again. Can't we just bring the troops home? Didn't the president promise to end the foreign wars and bring our troops home?

For the love of all that's holy stop with the "team america world police" shit for just once.

Also according to the article, this is a naval exercise conducted annually and jointly among 25 nations.

Annually. Much ado about nothing? From the Comments...

Quote:The piece is repetitive - but at least twice makes it plain that 25 nations have an annual naval exercise here re a potential blockade of the Strait - so why is this linked to possible imminent military action between Israel and Iran which is not in fact the reason they have arrived? Manipulative and provocative.

And...

Quote:You are entirely correct. It is an exercise to demonstrate that US led Naval forces can keep the Strait Of Hormuz open, and as such is perfectly legitimate.

DT is sensationalizing it, no doubt about it. You will find no such level of mass hysteria over this exercise in the US or Israel, although now that DT has run the article and everybody else is linking to it, I imagine the exercise will now get far more attention.

A little update on this one is in order.
Quote:The US is sending additional troops to the Middle Eastern region. Several combat ships and 4,000 marines are expected to join the military exercises in the Persian Gulf. In its turn Iran is going to hold the exercises of its anti-aircraft defense forces.

Quote:"The US will try to withdraw aircraft carriers from the Persian Gulf, because they are the only target vulnerable for Iran’s forces in the Persian Gulf. If there is an attempt to launch a strike on Iran it will be a remote air strike which is launched from the distance of thousands of kilometers away from Iran’s territory."
