Assault Weapons Ban Agenda Confirmed

In a way I'm kind of glad she went off the deep end this time. She has made the bill so incredibly stupid (and no where near the 'reasonable laws' she keeps mentioning) that I think she really is going to shoot herself in the foot.

Even some moderates that might go along with 'reasonable' laws are going to look at this abortion and say 'no fucking way'

Just remember any legislation has to make it through cloture in the Senate to even make it to a vote.

In addition, the Speaker of the House controls what comes up for a vote. Legislation in the House can't pass if it never comes up for a vote.

All of you need to be emailing and writing your Representatives and Senators.

I already have, and will do so again.

You miss the point.

Now the bargaining will begin.

The Dems will drop the most agregious provisions to get the magazine restrictions and expired 2004 AWB back in place. The question is will Republicans and Blue Dog Dems cave?

The other issue is that amendments can be added to the Bill in the Senate. What Republicans in the Senate will do is amend it as to make it unpalatable to the Dems, such as making the mag capacity limits and AWB apply to local, state, and all federal agencies & cut funding to the BATF, etc or social programs to pay for it.

The fraud this election was more rampant than ever. The election itself was dishonest. Not sure how we can go up against that...it is what it is. The election is just a front.

If there was a better candidate, he would have won.

Obama was extremely vulnerable, and even a wooden indian statue like Romney gave him a hell of a run for his money.

They took out the better candidates early on so all that was left was the lousy one.

People were too stupid to see it.

Interesting that all the measures that Feinstein would like to adopt would've done ZERO to stop that mass shooting in CT.

This will be politics as usual. Go ape shit crazy with demands and then back off on some and call it a compromise.

And my favorite part

Quote:Protects legitimate hunters and the rights of existing gun owners by:

Grandfathering weapons legally possessed on the date of enactment
Exempting over 900 specifically-named weapons used for hunting or sporting purposes and

Exempting antique, manually-operated, and permanently disabled weapons

So in her own words she recognizes that it is a right of gun owners to possess these firearms prior to enactment but this right disappears for future people (i.e., our children). I see...
