At Least 250 Conn. police openly refuse to enforce new gun laws

Quote:A showdown is developing between a sizable number of Connecticut state police officers and the politicians who passed into law highly restrictive gun control, gun bans, and bans on high capacity magazines.

Gun rights legal expert and activist David Hardy reported Friday that 250 law enforcement officers in Connecticut have signed an open letter stating that they will not enforce the new anti-gun and magazine laws, which they consider to be a violation of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

According to Hardy,

Tyler Jackson has emailed me an interesting story, soon to appear online (I'll link to it once it does)-- the gist is that the head of the Connecticut Peace Officers' Assn has released an open letter stating that the police will not "be party to the oppression of the people of the state by enforcing an unconstitutional law."

So far 250 LEOs have cosigned the letter.

It's the "BILL OF RIGHTS" not the bill of "needs"

That sounds encouraging but I don't really know what percentage 250 officers comes to in a state like Massachusetts. Then again, it could be not all of them are aware of the open letter yet.
Ammunition, it's the new lead bullion. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

I read that there are a little over 1,300 officers statewide...and that those who have "taken a stand" are on the list themselves. If that's true, I'm not real impressed by their "stand", as it's self-serving.

...and apparently both stories are untrue:

I give those that arent complying a lot of credit. I hope they dont fold and give in. The penalties for not complying seem to be severe so there are some people left with balls and conviction. I have a bad feeling that if they start going door to door things can get ugly up there but maybe it is time for gun owners to fight back.
