Here is Amazon's page on it, maybe a little more info, a little higher price, plus questions asked and answered, and ratings (4.6 out of 5 stars)

Looks to function just like all the other Baofeng/Pofung radios with a 2800mAh battery vs the 1800mAh battery on my UV5RA. About 10 bucks cheaper than what I paid too.

Looks to be a good deal and a great way for someone to get their feet wet with a new radio as long as they don't rape you on shipping. To compare, you can get a UV5R radio and a 3800mAh battery for $49.79 shipped and have the same thing but 1000mAh more than the one in the OP.

I went and bought one just to fool with since they were so cheap. I used to have a pretty advanced radio a while back (SONY ICF2010) but I never really got that deep into it beyond listening to PHL TRACON. What else do you guys listen to besides emergency services?

For that type of stuff I really want to get a Bearcat scanner. They have a "close capture" feature where it can automatically find the frequency of a nearby transmission and demodulate it.

Yea they have some pretty sweet scanners out nowadays. I'm looking to get a new handheld scanner, if you get one let me know.

It'll be awhile before I buy anything, but if I were to buy something it would be this:

http://smile.amazon.com/Uniden-Handheld-...at+scanner

Click "21 Used from $72.82" and you can find some good deals.

It wont do digital but it's the best analog scanner you can get for that price point.

I know we're kinda getting off subject here but it's crazy what they have to have for a scanner compared to a transceiver like the one mentioned in this thread.

That's a nice scanner though, and a decent price.^
