Battery Pack Rebuild
#1
Has anyone here had good luck with getting power tool battery packs rebuilt and have them work more than 90 days? I've had two sets of batteries rebuilt by two different battery places in the past few years and I wasn't satisfied with them at all. The Dewalt 18vXRP packs I had rebuilt after about 30 days or so they wouldn't charge anymore and throw the charger into error. My Dewalt 9.6v packs only lasted about 90 days before they completely crapped out and won't charge, which is interesting considering I had gotten about 5 years out of them before I had them rebuilt.

Never done it, and I've never trusted aftermarket batteries. I deal with all kinds of rechargeable batteries at work, and I can confidently say that it's almost always worth it to buy the OEM battery, with few exceptions.

FWIW: We had a couple of DeWalt 18V XRP packs built by Warehouse Battery Outlet in Quakertown. I didn't run head to head runtime and cycle comparisons, but they've been working for several years ...
