Beckel On Romney Poll Lead: 'It's Over'
#1
On Fox News' "The Five", former Democratic strategist Bob Beckel sounded defeated when reflecting on today's Gallup poll showing Mitt Romney taking a 52-46 percent lead over Barack Obama nationally. "It's over. If these numbers are true, it's over," Beckel said.

I agree. It's over. We shouldn't let up until the last polls close on Nov 6, but I do think it's over.

We still have one debate left on foreign policy. Even though most polls show Romney as the winner of last Tuesday's debate, I still wouldn't exactly call that night something to cheer about. Until ALL polls close on November 6th, I will still be on my toes. I took vacation that week from work, and on that night I will be at the bar either drinking in victory or defeat.

Beckel is one of the few Libs I can listen to without wanting to vomit. He is a partisan Dem, but he is fairly smart and isn't a socialist like the Obama wing of the party. Also, as evidenced here, he won't lie just to support his side. He also does pretty well in the debates considering he is always outnumbered 4-1 on Fox.

I say it's bullshit to keep the R turnout down. I hate polls, if they show what I don't want it bugs me, if it shows what I want I can't take comfort in it

Historically, a challenger has never lost in Romney situation. The fat lady has all but sung.

It's usually the other way around. People want to vote for the winner. A big part of Obama's strategy was to be portrayed as leading in the polls throughout the campaign. This is bad news for Obama, so I expect the Dems to get really desperate in the next couple of weeks.

Do such polls take into account electoral votes?
If it's a popular vote scenario i wouldn't dance yet.
