being logged out

Anyone find the site keeps logging them out? I am a slow typest, as a result by the time I type, format and then try to submit the post I get a not logged in message. Then I log in and all the type is gone, it's getting very frustrating to say the least.

Anyone else having this problem?

Can't say that I've had that issue.

Might be something on your end, I've never had that problem whether posting on my tablet, phone or computer.
Everytime we look the other way when someone else loses rights we disagree with, we make it easier to lose the rights we support.

I'm not talking about between posts or visits, I'm talking about within the time it takes to create a longer than normal post, I've had several long winded posts typed up only to lose them because of being logged out.

I do have my browser set to clear cookies once closed but not while it's still open.

I'm thinking it may be a timed out problem because it does take me a long time to compose my posts.

I haven't had to log in since I've registered. From my experience some of the forums I've used in the past of this style have the option when you log in to only stay authenticated for x amount of minutes, maybe that's what you're running into and just haven't noticed it.

That's interesting.  I don't know of any time limits on having the new post screen open.  It is something I'll have to poke around at and see If I can find anything.  It could be something with all forums software because I have heard guys say on Poofa that they would compose a post in wordpad and then copy it over to the forums when complete.  Maybe that was to save time in the new post screen?

A Reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

I haven't had that problem here (yet) and I've taken a long time in a few replies. I get quite a few interruptions like phone calls, tending to the dog, talking to whomever happens to come in while I'm online, etc.
I have had that problem in the past on other forums though. When it was happening I started using wordpad to compose then copy and paste into the reply, spell checking and formatting don't really take very long, it's my typing and constant changing of my wording along with occasional interruptions that takes so long.

FWIW, I'm using a desktop computer running Windows XP Home Edition and Firefox 3.6.

Those who watch things happen,
And those who wonder what happened.

FUCK, it just happened again, and this time was only a few minutes from when I typed a response until I hit submit, constantly being logged out, logging back in and losing my work.

I frequent 5 forums on a regular basis, 3 are vBulletin, one I have no idea as it's not listed and not like any other I've been to and this mybb place.

FWIW I use IE9, always have used Microsoft's default browser since I first started using computers when Windows 3.1 was the OS. I have no interest in learning another.

Anyone know of some setting that may have been inadvertently turned on that would all of a sudden be causing this? I'm no computer dummy but I certainly couldn't make a living troubleshooting them.

That issue hasn't happened to me, but I DO feel your pain. When I was typing up my NFA sticky, about a half hour into it I clicked "ctrl+b" to bold some text, and all of a sudden the page reloaded itself and I lost ALL of my work. That was with the old text editor, and I was using an old version of explorer at the time.

After that I decided to type the whole thing up on word, then copy and paste it.

I have noticed this with all forum software...certain key combos cause pages to reload of go back to previous pages.  It happens to me sometimes when typing fast.  It's happened on VB, MyBB and IPB.
