Beretta ARX 100

After what feels like an absurdly long wait, Beretta is shipping the ARX 100 in 5.56. This is the civilian version of a battle rifle that’s currently in service in Italy and a handful of other countries. The rifle combines the operational familiarity of both the AR-15 platform and the AK platform into a versatile rifle that’s built for active service. Every detail of the gun is adaptable. Controls can be switched easily, without tools. Even the various calibers of barrels are interchangeable, on the fly. It is an impressive rifle. Beretta is calling the ARX 100 “The Ultimate Tactical Rifle.” Is it true? http://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/beretta-...iew-video/

Not sure I'm feeling it yet. I think I'd rather an FN SCAR as an alternative to the AR15, if I didn't want an AK.

You need to decide AR or AK. Im no help with the SCAR or AK I dont know those firearms well enough to give an opinion.

I bought an AR just because my friend wanted to sell me his for $500 so he could build one from scratch. I didn't turn that down. However, if he never sold it to me, I rather have an AK. Ammo is cheap, steel cased is okay to shoot through it, and most ranges near me only go out to 100 yards max. Actually, my AR collects dusts in my gun safe because I enjoy shooting handguns more. The only reason I don't sell my AR is because I'd put off buying a new rifle until the next fear of a ban arrives and then I have to pay 3-4x what they are worth if I want to own one before they may actually do get banned.

If you pick up a SCAR at a shop or show, you will realize how light it feels. It's a cross between AR accuracy and AK reliability. But wow, they get a premium price.
tolerance for failure meter... LOW

Isnt the Beretta also supposed to be a mix of the two?

Isnt the Beretta also supposed to be a mix of the two?

It looks similar to the SCAR in the important areas. Some streamlining of the exterior to make it more comfortable and cool looking.

Wonder if the price tag will be comparable?
