Bizarre Coincidence: Democrats Get More Time in All Three Debates
By Katrina Trinko

If you want more time to get your message out in debates, it’s good to be a Democrat.

According to the CNN debate clock, President Obama spoke at greater length than Mitt Romney during both debates, as did Vice President Biden during his debate with Paul Ryan. In the first debate, Obama spoke for 3 minutes, 14 seconds more than Romney — which means he got 8 percent more talking time than Romney. In last night’s debate, Obama spoke for 4 minutes and 18 seconds longer than Romney, giving him 11 percent more talking time. Obama talked for 52 percent of the time when either man had the floor, while Romney talked for 47 percent.

The extra time didn't help them.

Everyone should be given equal time, in every debate, and on every side.

I also want to know why the other parties that are on the ballot are not at the debates either.

Call it statist, call it liberty, call it anarchy. No matter what, everyone in every party wants to shape the nation in their OWN image, even if it means forcing those who choose not to to play by their rules.

But we ALL should be allowed to choose our overlords from EVERYONE who is approved to run for Master of the Nation.

The only way a 3rd party will ever stand an actual chance at getting into the oval office is to have equal footing with the Republicans and Democrats in the Presidential and Vice Presidential debates. If they do not, there is no chance whatsoever for them.

Any overages on time should be deducted from closing statements.
Kind of like what Biden complained about at the end of their debate. "He got 40 seconds and I get 15".

However the people who built the rules have decided that you need a certain percentage of the population to have voted for your party in the last election in order to get in the door for debate. It happened, primarily, because of Ross Perot and his influence in the election that gave us Wild Bill Clinton. Is it right; hell no, but it is the rule.Sad If more people knew of, and raised hell about, the rule it would probably be changed, but even that is not written in stone.
