New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Monday told a group of John Hopkins students that President Obama ought to sidestep the wishes of Congress and order swift new executive gun control measures.

I'd say that Bloomy could blow me but I don't want him that close to me.

Who is he kidding? Bloomberg could not even ban 16 oz drinks without approval of the NY City Council.

And how many members here called something similar?

Frankly, I think he should be tried for treason for suggesting ignoring the CotUS in such a blatant manner....

Very surprising how often liberals like to ignore checks and balances.

You know, it might be a good thing if Obama took Bloomburgh's advice and tried to blatantly bypass the Constitution. That'd be clear grounds for impeachment.

Apparently a lot of people on gun forums don't see why Bloomputs is proposing this. He is trying to become the next pres. and the best way to do this is to eliminate your compitition.
As for impeachment...............if obama would be impeached......who will take his place?

Boehner?
Biden?

Think again people......there won't be any gain.....none whatsoever.

I agree. Biden as president? The man is stupid enough to try something, but smart enough to be sneaky. At least Barry has handlers that are letting him walk the tight rope. All the needs done is to remove the safety net, and let him know it isn't there.

Replacing him would be best, if there was a decent person in line to replace him. At this point in time, we just need to make sure he works for us.
This will be the best security for maintaining our liberties. A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the religion of ignorance that tyranny begins. -Ben Franklin

It'd be political suicide for anyone backing Obama if he gets impeached. It'd also be a clear shot across the bow for anyone considering doing the same anytime soon.

Bloomburgh would be ruined if Obama got impeached off of something that he could remotely be connected to suggesting during any election outside of NYC, NJ, or CA.

Biden might try to be sneaky about it, but if Obama were impeached would he really run the risk of the same happening to him? He's not all too popular to start with, and it wouldn't be a stretch for him to get thrown under the bus if anything he does started to go wrong.

The Democratic party as well as any liberal minded politician would also know that there is a clear line that they shouldn't cross, whether they like it or not. I can also see gun control measures being tabled or ignored for a while as well since it would appear to be political suicide to even approach it without full support.

This is why I think Obama should be impeached. If for no other reason, to send the clear message that the government runs at the consent of the people who, through their elected officials, do have the authority to end their governing if the leaders do not govern according to the laws.

Successful impeachment will send a clear sign that enough is enough and the American people will remove a leader from office via Congress if they violate the CotUS. It is symbolic and a warning to others that would try the same thing.
