Bucks candidate sues to stop opponent from calling himself 'Duke'

Put up your dukes!
Cause there’s a new would-be sheriff in town.
And he’s itching for a fight, guns drawn with Article 1, Section 24 of the Pennsylvania Constitution as it relates to “any title of nobility or hereditary distinction.”
Tom Lingenfelter, the longtime political activist from Doylestown, is now in the race for Bucks County sheriff, and he wants his opponent kicked off the ballot because of a nickname....

I don't think a lawsuit is a good way to start a campaign...

If this guy reads the law the way he does, just imagine how he would read the UFA if he is elected.

Quote: § 24. Titles and offices.
The Legislature shall not grant any title of nobility or
hereditary distinction,
nor create any office the appointment to
which shall be for a longer term than during good behavior.

Quote:Article I, Section 9, Clause 8:

No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state.
The Second Amendment does not GIVE us the right. It tells the gov they can not infringe our right.

Getting Donnally off the ballot is the only way he can win. I haven't researched yet, but does Lingenfelter even have police experience?

My thought as well.

I've always been had good interactions with Duke.

Well, I can't vote against Duke's opponent in the primary because I'm not a registered Republican, but I certainly am going to cheer for him from the sidelines.

1st, because of his support of the 2nd Amendment, both in word and in deed.

2nd, because he's not a pain in the ass, as demonstrated by how smoothly his LTCF process runs.

3rd, because he's not a pain in the ass and this Lingenfelter is clearly a professional pain in the ass.

(But I'll give you one in the general election, Duke.)
