California DOJ Issues Letter Requiring Micro-Stamping On Semi-Auto Handguns
#1
California DOJ sent out a letter last week requiring all semiautomatic handguns sold in the state to be equipped with micro-stamping technology.

In other news, sales of revolvers has surged in recent weeks...

How has CA managed to avoid the numerous and obvious 2A suits that this (as well as all the other anti-2A crap) should generate? I get that the fruits and nuts swarm the place but they don't make up 100% of the population.

Not that Microstamping is worthwhile technology, but firing pins wear down and need replaced. So does that mean you'd need to have a custom firing pin made just for your gun every time it needs replaced?

I guess then that part of any legislation would mean that all firing pins would need to be replaced by a certified armorer properly licensed by the state.

I doubt it's 95%, but I would agree that the majority of the population would vote anti-gun. But it doesn't take a majority to file suit, so where is Cal-Guns? :crickets: Dodgy

I guess the easy way would be to replace the firing pin and then register the pin to the gun and register both to the owner. Whatever, no one makes any of this crap so they have a defacto ban. I would think this would be an easy action even in CA. I guess we'll see. I'm sure it will take years to sort out.

Not enough gets said about the kind of voting populace that allows politicians like this to get and hold office. It's scary.

In Arkady's world, rather than producing microstamping capable guns, the firearm manufacturers would tool up to make 30 round revolvers for the California market.
Say AMEN!!!
