Call to Action - Please Bomb This Comment Section - This is heartbreaking

I know this was covered in another thread but the Shaneen Allen case looks pivotal in fighting back against the handful of states that slow-issue permits and won't recognize permits from any other state.

Shaneen Allen is front and center on Philly.com this morning. Goes into more detail over her ordeal:

^-- The Disqus comments here look ripe for a comment bomb. Upvote any good comment you see there and troll the gun-grabbers.

Here is her funding page:

I kicked her $100. If you do it through paypal you'll see at the end the payment is going directly to her attorney.

She hired Evan Nappen:

I sympathize with her plight, in the sense that she should be allowed to carry anywhere in the country as should all of us.

However, being a gun owner comes with certain responsibilities, and those responsibilities include knowing where and when you can carry, as well as the requirements from state to state. Ignorance of the law is no defense from it.

I hope she is granted leniency, her being a single black mother with a poor and impoverished background will certainly get her farther in that regard than being a middle-class white male from a rural area.

Ideally, this will open up the floodgates to challenge the laws as they stand from a national perspective. Drivers licenses are valid state to state, as are marriage licenses. And the person in the comments who brought up the federal requirement that same sex marriage licenses be made valid nationally made a very good point as well.

And, even though I believe she really is in the wrong for not following the law, I hope she's not penalized for it and the law gets changed. I'm hoping more for the former than the latter, because getting NJ to change their laws is truly a pipe dream at this point.

Well I hope every middle aged white male in the rural areas doesn't ignore her predicament and instead endorse her. Because this is huge leverage against the antis and it would be foolish to simply ignore this.

The courts cannot be lenient. There is a 3 year mando for what she's being charged with.

This isn't a case of a random possible murderer entering NJ. It's a PA citizen who has her LTCF.

This breaks my heart as well. I wish I could donate, but I'm broke right now. But I am definitely following her case.

Sounds like she needs to be more careful driving. Two traffic stops?! The first one started the trouble and the second one landed her in jail.

I wish that NJ cop could have just sternly explained the law to her and took her gun and sent her home. It stinks that her honesty ruined her life like this. I hope she can get off. Maybe gun salesmen can start tacking on that info at a sale. I know they ask about the LTCF sometimes....it would be easy just to remind a Philly customer not to take it to Jersey. Philly peeps go to Jersey all the time without a second thought. I used to make deliveries in Jersey every week with my job and even accidentally took my gun once. Just didn't get pulled over....and if I did, I would have known not to mention my gun.

It's pretty hard to boycott companies for beliefs, in general.

I donated because I see this as an excellent opportunity to bring about some serious change and it is precisely because the defendant is so sympathetic. This woman's story (getting the shit kicked out of her) is precisely why people carry and why they should be able to carry wherever they go. The fact that she's the exact opposite of every stereotype that the antis put up (female, minority, poor) makes it even more appealing as a place to make a stand. It's already gotten more exposure than any other "whoops, I mistakenly took my gun into the Peoples Republik of New Jersey and now I'm going to jail" story than any I can remember.

I donated. The donations can be as little as one dollar. I think it's a cause worth supporting. The idea that a lawful carrier of a concealed weapon can be a felon by literally moving 6 inches in the wrong direction is absurd. At worst, the firearm should be confiscated and sent to a gun dealer or sheriff in the carriers home state. Under no circumstances should there be criminal charges.

That is all understood, but quite frankly I have a better chance of convincing you to stop being gay than to see NJ change their gun laws.
