Quote: Actor Bradley Cooper to Produce and Star in Movie About Slain Navy SEAL Chris Kyle

Actor Bradley Cooper will star in a movie about slain Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle, who was killed by a trouble Iraq war veteran earlier this month, the New York Post reports.

A mental health advocate and star of the hit movie “Silver Linings Playbook,” Cooper will also produce the film. Cooper’s production team reportedly bought the rights to Kyle’s best-selling book “American Sniper.” Following Kyle’s death, it was determined that the script would be rewritten to include the tragedy.

On Feb. 2, 2012, Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield were allegedly shot and killed by Eddie Ray Routh, who was apparently struggling with PTSD. The three men went to a shooting range at Rough Creek Lodge in Glen Rose, Texas.

I'd definitely go see it.

Isn't Cooper another of the big time hypocrites that they build in Tinsel town? Loves to make the movies but a real firearm would scare the shit out of him?

He has met previously with Biden trying to push new mental health laws. Looks like he's going to turn the life story of Chris Kyle into a push for more gun laws.

Woulkd hope that Kyle's family could shut it down if it were not reflective of the man or his intentions.

Bradley Coopers production company owns the rights to it. They don't need permission to fuck it all up.

Quote:“His story first of all really needs to be told, and it’s also relevant on two fronts: gun control and the need to address the many soldiers who are coming back with PTSD. Medicine has evolved to such a state — soldiers are coming back and they’re going to assimilate into the culture and if we don’t address the mental state along with the physical state it’s going to be a problem.” - Bradley Cooper

Just watched the movie "American Sniper" which was based on an autobiography written by Chris. Interesting and humble man.

If you see the film be sure to check out his wife here: (speaking at an NRA forum).

She talks about the man people didn't see.

I bought the book.

EDIT: I'm trying to trust Eastwood to do right by Kyle with the film, and the trailers are really drawing me to it. But I expect Cooper to fuck it all up, behind the scenes or after the fact, and do things counter to Chris Kyle's values.

I read the book shortly before he was killed. I really want to see the movie but will hold out until I can watch it at home.
