My first "real" AK. Smile (I bought a WASR in 2008)

Excellent condition - had I not been told it was used, I would have assumed it had never been fired.

Random bits of info:

Black polymer hand guard.
While I prefer the look of wood, I was pleasantly surprised that this material is rock-solid, and not at all flimsy, as I had feared.

Parkerized 1.5mm receiver, bulged rpk trunion (and a dimple! I finally have the DIMPLE! LOL!)
Yeah, it really is heavier.

Polished bolt/carrier. Mmmm... shiny.

Slant muzzle brake.
Tapco G2 trigger.
No mag wobble, sights look good.
Came with cleaning rod, magazine, and black, nylon sling.

Stock operates smoothly. It has slight movement when locked open - none side to side, but it has about 1/4" play up/down.

Can be fired with stock folded.
Stock has notch on right side that allows safety to be manipulated even with stock folded.

And now for a crapload of photos! Cool

how so if you bought the romanian first?
yugoslavia wasn't even a member of the warsaw pact and was able to remain free from soviet influence.
the fabrication doesn't stop in the shop, that's what the field guys are for.

LOL!
Point being that most people look down on WASRs to the point where they aren't worthy of the designation "AK47".

Nice. The first ak I bought was that one, exactly. I still have it.

Nice Find Buddy. Those darn AK's really are addicting aren't they.

I just tore my WASR down and cleaned it tonight. I think it was the first time I ever cleaned it. And it showed. Think I'll tear down and clean the other two this weekend.

Again, nice find. Looks great. I still don't have a folding stock AK, but one is in my future.

Congratulations! You will love that Yugo for years to come...guaranteed!

I love the dimpled AK's also, but oddly my Saiga AK is pure Russian but lacks the mag well dimples! LOL!

A Reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

Cool. How does your stock compare to what I described? (in regards to the slight movement)

It IS nice - no doubt. Funny considering I was willing to buy one in pretty much any condition, so long as it functioned.
I paid a lot more than I had initially wanted to, but it wasn't all that much more than the WASRs are selling for now. (WASRs for $550 even if USED?) It wasn't a "steal", but I didn't get raked over the coals either.

Wait, you can CLEAN these things? Wink

I still want another with a wood stock, but I'm happy I picked this one up.
Nice to have options!

Yeah, I noticed the lack of dimple on the Saiga - are they all like that? I didn't think so, but never paid attention.

Well, off to the range!!!

Seriously, I wouldn't sweat the petty stuff, and vise-versa.

Odd, all mine have the dimple, and I wouldn't kick a WASR out to the curb...
