Cigar smokers' Meet & Greet II
#1
When: April 26, 2014, 11:00 am -?
Where: Cigars International, Hamburg, PA location

Last year's event was a success, and with a few folks expressing interest, I figured I'd choose a date and hope for a good turnout.

Come out and meet some fellow gun owners and cigar smokers. Thousands of cigars available on site, though I don't like to smoke what I buy on the spot, as they're not at my preferred humidity level. Pipe counter is also available. LOTS of room to sit and smoke while chatting. Two fully stocked bars on site. Cabela's and several restaurants are in the immediate vicinity, so come out and make a day of it.

Carry method is up to the individual. I know for a fact that several people have OC'd at this location with no issue, so if you're looking for a friendly opportunity to give OC a try for the first time, this might be the time for you.

ETA info about the cigars I handed out:

CI MISTAKES

Product description from the CI site:
Quote:As smooth as they come, MISTAKES is a wonderful everyday cigar.

This “smooth operator” is a dynamo that I can barely keep in stock. In fact I’ve got tons of customers who order nothing but this cigar. It’s easy to see why. MISTAKES give you premium flavor and terrific construction at a bargain price. They’re super-smooth, nice and mild, made in a top-notch factory and darn cheap. A beauty that’s simply a great everyday cigar. Have I mentioned how inexpensive they are? Made in Nicaragua for CI exclusively, MISTAKES are gorgeous cigars rolled with Connecticut-shade wrappers and Dominican mixed fillers. Trust me, if you like pleasant, smooth, well-constructed cigars with a perfect draw....not to mention a cheap every day price, then this one’s for you. Overall it’s an extraordinarily compelling cigar for the money.

The story of how they came to be. Posted in response to a customer asking, "Who makes these mistakes and why are they called mistakes?"
Quote:Due to an agreement with the factory we can't disclose who makes them. I can tell you most of the stuff they make is north of $6 per cigar and they have multiple CA ratings in the mid-90s. They are called Mistakes because they showed up here many years back by "mistake" and we sold them anyway. What we found was people kept calling to reorder so we had the ingenious idea to reorder this blunder and call them mistakes since that is how we pitched it to our customers after that first shipment arrived. Fast forward nearly 10 years and hundreds of reorders later and they are one of our best sellers. They are not 2nds or overruns. Merely a hiccup at the factory that turned into a brand more successful than most everything we carry. In short, try a bundle they are darn good for the money.

That's fine, but you'll have to keep me posted on who to add to the list and manage that thread yourself.

Is there a non-smoking area available? Smile

After seeing that actual posting, I don't think it's a good idea at all. Creating a duplicate would be one thing, but creating an event thread with only a link to our thread here is really bad form, IMO.Undecided

I have some friends that live up that way, routinely OC, and occasionally go there. I can't imagine they've prohibited firearms without me hearing about it from them, but I'll make a specific inquiry.

The response from my friend:

Quote:I carry all the time, as does another guy in our pipe club. The store manager (who has since moved on) has made the comment on numerous occasions that he feels safer when I am in the store. Virtually everyone on the staff either knows or at least recognizes me, and I have never had anyone say anything even remotely negative.

I'm in there OC at least every couple of months. Never a problem.
