If you believe in freedom of speech, don't get so offended at others being offended.

I still say that this was a poor place to have it, but as the article so clearly states:

Actually, no, the church did not grant them access, the school did. It is on school property and is not a church per se but a chapel. It was done, without any doubt, to piss of the religious contingent on campus.

Whatever it is, they obviously got permission and didn't break in. Who cares what their intent was. We live in a country where even burning an American flag is protected by the first amendment. If you support freedom of speech, then you should support freedom of ALL speech, even the offensive.

I don't know, now it's starting to sound like you are offended that I got so offended at others being offended. Tongue

In all fairness, the college's chaplain defended the location. And, after reading it and not skimming so quick, it wasn't done as an intentional mockery although those who despise Christianity reveled in the implications, as evidenced by the article and this thread.

Ya know, the First Amendment is a funny thing. It allows the folks on that campus to do something that most people find offensive. It also allows the other people to speak out about something they find offensive. Get off your high horse, I have a First Amendment right to dislike what they've done.

Now that I think about it, since there were actual sex acts being performed it may very well have been a prohibited act since that building is considered a public building.

I'm offended you're offended, so stop offending me if you don't want to be offended. Tongue

And yes, I'm legitimately offended they held this type of program here, but more offended that so many are taking pleasure at how offensive it might be to Christians.

It's a wonder we had any procreation back in the day when college wasn't the norm.

I agree with everything there. Well except for me being on a high horse. I'm actually at my desk at work, where I should be working.

Whoa hold on now, that changes everything. Now you've made the transition from "being offended" to "wanting the government to step in and protect you."

I absolutely understand why you would feel that way.

Actually I said no such thing. The USSC has held that First Amendment rights do have their boundaries such as someone not being able to yell "Fire" in a crowded theater. They've also found in support of public nudity and public sex laws. Since this is a public building and sex acts were being performed someone could, legitimately, file a complaint. The organizers themselves admitted that masturbation was occurring. End of story.
