Combative Carbine Class in Johnstown Area

Was wondering if anyone is going to this course. It is Oct. 20th at Daisytown Range. I'm thinking about going and taking the AK.AKM3

Haven't been to a class in a while. Like to hit a lot more classes if I could. This one is in my backyard, so I'm thinking about going to it.

No, and maybe the thread would get more hits if it were in the tactics and training section.

I did one class with a tough guy instructor and that turned me off to classes in general.
I'm the type of person that does not get along well with certain personality types I guess.

They are not the tough guy types. Those are fairly non-existent and surely a poor excuse to not pursue quality training.

What I was getting at is that the very first thing on the staff page under Mr. Fry is his martial arts accomplishments.

I don't need any excuse for not pursuing training.

I paid for a class once and found the guy (not this Fry guy) to be an absolute ass, he seemed to take pleasure in demeaning those tht were not up to his quality of standards.
He was also touted as being a self defense expert, "Special Forces", etc...

What I was saying is that when the first thing listed is about martial arts, that's not for me and I sure don't need an excuse for anything, we are not in high school and you ain't my principal.

You say it's a quality class, then fine it is, I'm saying I don't care.

Well excuse me. Didn't see a training section. Maybe if it was in that section you wouldn't have bothered to screw this one up.

Apparently you don't get along with to many people since you had to come to this thread and have been a ass since you got here.

OK, we get it. Now, can I have my thread back to see if anyone around here is INTERESTED in going this class with me. You can always start another thread on why you don't like training.

Now, if anyone has gotten past Fatheads B.S., is anyone thinking about attending this class?

This is a good comment from you considering your comment somewhere else about not questioning where techniques come from lest you be told you are wrong, a gamer, etc...

How do I know this is quality training is what I was getting at in the first place, all I see is a guy that is touting his martial arts skills.

It's not training, it's instruction.

And you are typing in bold letters and misspelling my user name and I'm the one that is being an ass?

I had a few comments and made them on a public forum, sorry if your feelings get damaged so easily.

I apologize and to avoid any problems in the future, I have a cure.
Thanks for your time.

Does it matter as you have already written him off?

If it does matter I suppose you could talk to those who have had his training. Chris Fry makes an annual trip here and to other locations nearby. I am sure that you know more than one person who you can talk to about them.

As for finding out if it is quality or not how does one compare pizzas in a new town?

You talk to those who have taken it, you try it yourself, and you try the competition. There is not a one size fits all way to go. There are lots of solid people out there and generally the good ones all teach almost all the same stuff, perhaps varying in their descriptions and presentation of the techniques.

As for the thread you linked and my comments made there, not entirely exclusive to that thread but generally speaking a few of the people participating there are so dogmatic it hurts. Dogmatic to the point that I would place a bet that their skills are declining rather than advancing.

Ha! Or is it?
