Anyone hear about this? Anyone a member?

Personally I'm on the fence, some odd rules in there.

Every time I visit a site like that I'm instantly wary of what kind of list my name is going to appear on Ninja Their rules could definitely use some proofreading. These groups always seem to revolve around the founder, never the members or the mission. As such, it always seems like it is just another individual seeking recognition or purpose.

I think communities like this forum or PAZRT run deeper and serve more purpose than any one of these groups will ever accomplish.

Yeah... I don't know what it is about the rules, but something about them is somehow off-putting (is that a word?)...

I'm all about upholding the Constitution. I think Oath Keepers has a lot more going for it as an organization.

I tend to be skeptical though of any organization and what their agenda's truly push toward especially once they become politically active and start to lobby government. That includes the NRA and orgs like Oath Keepers. They all need to be watched, and I refuse to drink anyone's Koolaid. Koolaid could be good one day, and the next thing you know they'll be feeding you poison!

You wouldn't be able to run as many people over with that car if it didn't drive as far. It should only have a 10 gallon fuel tank.

Some of the rules that I have a problem with:
Quote:6) You must Voluntarily attend a Firearms Safety Refresher Course and Voluntarily attend Firearms Training Courses
- I have no problem with safety and safety courses, but mandating refreshers and probably on your own dime and time. What are the repercussions if you don't attend? Kicked out? No refunds?

Quote:9) You must be willing to supply your own ammunition, ( reloaded ammunition will not be accepted)
- I reload my own ammo and I shoot my own ammo. If I have to supply my own ammo then I'm fine with shooting the ammo I created. If I'm the only one shooting it, what's the problem?

Quote:10) You must be willing to sign a wavier to attend any Course hosted by any instructor representing the CSF or Chief Kessler
- So is this "mandatory" training?

My thoughts exactly BigDawgBeav! Seems a little too Nazi-ish to me. The reloading thing really jumped out. If you're shooting your own guns and your own reloads, what's the big deal? And I don't even reload... yet...

And then the other stuff sorta seems like a pyramid scheme to get people to pay for training. I'd be sorta a bit more ok if they said something like, must take an NRA approved safety course at such and such intervals, or do continuous training that is certified by X...

If you want to get some hands-on learning, let me know. I'm not an expert, but I can certainly offer up the basement and press.

Awesome! I may take you up on that. I may have about 500 rounds of once fired 9mm brass in my hands in the near future... as soon as I fire this 500 rounds of factory ammo. I won't feel so bad shooting it all if I knew I could reload it!

The way I'm reading the last part is that they remove liability for any accidents during training. The waiver must be signed before attending any training classes. Just like at an open to the public range to target shoot. So if you shoot yourself accidentally (sorry bigdawgbeav) you assume responsibility.

It isn't saying that you must sign a statement that you will attend every class.

They really do need a proof-reader.

Too tin foil hat for me.
A gun rack in a pick-up is not for holding guns. Its a place for women to hold on to. Smile
