Corbutt WANTS TO RAISE YOUR TAXES
#11
The proposal was set forth to get around the idea of making 80 and 422 toll roads. Now that 80 issue wouldn't affect me all that much but I have no choice but to use 422 for my commute each day. So once again we are damned if we do and damned if we don't. The fed cut what they give us back for highways and now we're stuck footing the bill in-state.

How much can be saved by getting rid of the majority of the PennDot road crews and do what they already do for most jobs and sub out the work. The wasteful crap I see in my area with PennDot is sad.

All these new taxes and higher costs are going to put us into a recession we cannot pull out of sooner rather than later.

You heard it here first.

I guess nobody is gonna talk about the state's pension plan at all... so to fix all the bridges that are out...
you now have an even bigger reason to gas-up in New Jersey where the gas is .30 cents or more less.

There is no such thing as a good reason to go to NJ, not to mention because of the $5 toll coming back you'd about break even by gassing up over there.

I don't go to jersey either, but the Tacony bridge is still only $2. Wink

I know a Kenzo who lives in the neighborhood, when he's not totally drunk, will take you across the Delly in his boat for free. You may have to lay on the floor or bend over when Coast Guard comes past because there's not enough jackets. However right now just about everybody has pulled their boats out of the water and winterized them.

So please, someone check the legislation, but the last I knew much of your money paid in state gsoline taxes was going to SEPTA and other urban mass transit systems. IF that is still the case tell the politicians to defund the mass trans projects and put the money back where it belongs! Then there'll be no need to raise the gasoline tax!
